Something… is dead…
Something… I don’t know what… has definitely met it’s untimely end… somewhere in my ceiling… Oh god… the smell… is VILE!
It was like negative 4 the day before yesterday and during the night it dropped to something like into the negative teens, which is beyond cold, even for here. But this morning… because New England makes NO SENSE it was almost 60 degrees and whatever frozen mass of deadness that was seeking refuge from the cold is now festering to the point I am about to rip down this entire ceiling! *gag*
And no… I have no access. If I pull this thing down, I’ll have to replace the whole ceiling just to get at this thing… so option two is to just wait it out and know I have a corpse above my kitchen. *shudder* Judging by the small it’s something small, but not like… mouse small… I’m guessing squirrel or maybe bird. We don’t have much woodland life around here and being on the second floor it’s all I can imagine.
The cats sure want to get at it… They’ve been camping in the kitchen all day, of course they are excited since the windows are open in the middle of winter to try and air this putrid smell out of my house.
So that’s my whine for the moment…

Maybe this is morbid but that is the funniest thing I have read in while. LOL. Sorry, I mean that poor creature in the ceiling! That is awful! Is it an attic above you or another level? Would it be in between two floors or is there a way to get up above the ceiling to see what it is? That has never happened to me so I can’t imagine the smell but even if you had to cut a piece of the ceiling you could always just patch it and plaster over it again depending on the kind of ceiling.

So my manager calls me in and tells me I’m fired – four days before I put in my two weeks. They didn’t want to pay me unemployment for when the store closed. It was really unfair and I’m still unhappy.
Sorry to hear that too Celestial Rainstorm. Employers just suck sometimes! I can’t believe they would just fire people like that to avoid paying unemployment. That is so unfair. Were you on any kind of probation period? Because as far as I know I don’t think they can fire you with no notice unless it’s in like the first 3 months you have been there. If they had no reason to let you go, you could probably go back on them and claim unemployment.

Nope, no probation period. I had 2 write-ups for missing work due to mother’s chemotherapy, but that was it. Since the store is closing, I don’t think they’ll do anything about it. I’m too tired to pursue it, I just hope I find another job soon.

Regarding termination from a job with no reason, it depends on what state you live in whether an employer can do that or not. In Alabama you can be terminated and the employer say nothing more than we no longer require your services.
My whine — I wish this “old friend” would leave us alone. We have nothing but pity for her, but she has so many issues she can’t or won’t see it. She called at 1 am tonight. WTF? She knows we work and have kids so why the heck is she calling at this hour?
So sorry Celestial Rainstorm. I really hope that you find a perfect job that you love after all this!

So sorry, that is no fun. At least it’s not 100+ outside yet. We had a cat die in the car and get all tangled up when we started it, had it jacked up and took off the front wheel to dig him out and couldn’t get him untangled. Ended up bagging the parts we could see in a scented trashbag and towing it to the first car place that agreed to get up in there and get him out.
If it’s coming out of vents you can jam a bunch of fabric softener sheets in the vents, it can help a little but nothing really covers that smell. Here’s hoping for an unseasonable freeze in your neck of the woods!
*Sigh* I wish I knew more about computers. And jobs.
And I had to put in my computer for repairs when the charger jack snapped. Turns out my hard drive needed to be replaced also. I’m glad I backed up everything, so I didn’t mind. What I DIDN’T know is they also wiped my version of Microsoft Office. Word, Picture Manager, everything I used is now gone. I’m really upset because I write a lot, and was really looking forward to getting back to it. Now I have to go on a long search for the version of Office I need at a price that won’t break me. I think I shelled out WAY too much money for this thing. But oh well. That’s my whine. Its been a rough couple of days.If you don’t have a backup of your MS Office OS, Word, etc. – try looking for it on eBay. I’ve had some good luck with the older versions of PhotoShop Elements. You might be able to find what you need at a decent cost.

Finding happiness again.
I thought I was getting sick – killer sore throat all of yesterday, and persisting. Scratching, and coughing, and generally just being raw and sore. I had forgotten how miserable such a simple little ailment like sort throat can make you!
But tonight, I’m up because I’m somewhat nauseous, enough to keep me awake at any rate. Not really a symptom of strep or a cold that I’m aware of.
I’m starting to highly suspect acid reflux 🙁 I had a lot of issues with that and heartburn while on Zoloft. But my medication has not recently changed, and I haven’t eaten anything spicy in the past days. So I have no idea what caused it!
Anyway, I’m wide awake at 3 AM. I’m feeling pretty mopey about it.
I have chronic migraines so at times it feels like I’m always sick. 🙁 I have to plan every event around the very likely possibility of my headaches worsening to the point of not being able to ignore. So when I get SICK on top of that, I get so fed up with my body!
Why can’t my parts just work the way they are intended? Can I return them for an exchange or a store credit??
