We’ve been saving some money for a while and plan on continuing saving money each month.

Make any paint decisions yet?
It is nice having a place of our own that we can do whatever we want to.Right now it’s looking like my son’s room will be stripped horizontally: Top 5 feet a light blue, then the next 6 inches a dark navy blue, then the next 12 inches a golden yellow and then the bottom 1.5 feet either a red or a reddish-orange. It will be so cool (though tricky/tedious to do) because it will match a lot of his toys – Disney’s Cars, Transformers, et cetera.
We’re thinking a pale aqua (actually called turquoise mist) for his bathroom and the study/spare bedroom. We’re not sure on our bedroom (probably some sort of earth/tan color), our bathroom or the kitchen/living room color.

October 1, 2008 at 8:04 pm #571667First post from my new house! 😆 I’m still laughing my butt off over the fact that my cable and internet were up and running before my phone (number had to get registered with the local 911).

I’m working on taking some. They are on my camera, I just have to get them off. I’m taking progress shots of my son’s room as I paint it. 😀October 4, 2008 at 11:58 pm #571671Can’t wait to see them!!! I’m so excited for you!!! 😀
October 17, 2008 at 1:07 pm #571672I got all the painting in my son’s room and the master bedroom finished just in time for our things to arrive. We got a call earlier this week asking if they could deliver our stuff on Wednesday rather than Thursday. Since they said they could have everything unloaded before the new bedroom set was scheduled to arrive I said yes. 0_0! I forgot how much room boxes take up.
Gavin’s room is unpacked and we got his blinds hung yesterday. Our room was actually set up first since the furniture was being delivered and the old set went in the garage until we can donate it. We hung the curtains last night and moved the chair and ottoman from the living room to an empty space in the room. Looks much better now. All we need now is a plant (preferably silk) for the corner between the windows and it will really be done.
We’ve had a few “casualties” so far. One of the bookshelves had the top ripped off; Gavin’s tiger-faced stick horse is missing (it wasn’t packed in a box); the wire cross pieces for the bunk bed are missing; and my husband’s dragon table base is broken. Haven’t gotten to the Windstones or the dragon and pegasus statue yet. After seeing the dragon table base I’m a little nervous.
We’ve got our work cut out for ourselves that’s for sure. We have to figure out the living room and the computer room/library/spare bedroom set up.
October 17, 2008 at 4:55 pm #571673I hope you don’t have any more casualties!! Crossing my fingers for you!

Me too! I can now say the dishes made it safely. No idea on anything else though, they took all morning. I’ve only taken a small break for lunch and then moving and setting up the computer desk. If you ever have to move furniture by yourself I highly recommend something like the “Super Sliders” or “Moving Men” furniture sliders. They make it SO much easier!
