I’m back for a little bit. Our phone and internet were shut off Sept. 12 before I got up in the morning so I couldn’t check on much until we got to my parents house late that evening. We’re staying at my mother in laws house right now.
Hubby starts his new job on Monday. He anxious/excited about it. After 8 years in the military, it should be a refreshing change for him.
We close on the new house next Friday. My husband was quite pleased with the house. We’re looking at paint chips trying to decide what colors we want the different rooms to be before we get our stuff delivered. We have some ideas, just need to finalize them.

September 19, 2008 at 5:40 pm #571648Congrats! And picking paint is fun… I’m looking forward to it when me and my fiancee finally get a place of our own! You know… in 50 years or so…. 😆

September 27, 2008 at 12:35 pm #571651Whee! I’m a home owner with a mortgage now. 😆 We closed on the house yesterday afternoon. Closing was supposed to have been at 2 p.m., but got pushed back to 3 p.m., fortunately the kiddo was a good boy and was very good while we were waiting and then signing the paper work. We’ll be taking some of the things over later that we aren’t using while prepping the house for move in. We have our mailbox, but haven’t set it up yet. I’ll try to get a picture pf the outside of the house later.

September 27, 2008 at 3:26 pm #571656Yay! I remember when we signed on our house, we were so excited…when the signing was over we drove to our new house and drooled on it and ran inside and called it ours! We were sooooo happy…still are!
It’s been 2 years and we are still so very happy we own our house. last weekend we remodeled our bedroom a little…and rearranged the furniture, looks so much better now. Need to take some pictures.
We are also planning on building a wall and putting in a door for our daughter’s room, right now she resides in a little alcove upstairs. Then we are pulling up the carpet in the area everyone walks through and sanding, staining and varnishing the wood floors underneath, this is a 100 year old house and it has tongue and groove wood floors! Can you believe people carpeted over it?? Oy!
We plan to do the same downstairs too.
There is still alot to do inside, but we’re getting there.

September 27, 2008 at 9:54 pm #571660Congrats, Peg! That’s great news. It’s so nice having your own place… no icky carpet you can’t replace, no hearing neighbors through a shared wall… oh, how I envy you. 🙂
Make any paint decisions yet?
