Well I’m visiting my mother-in-law for a few days for a baby shower and some house hunting. We saw about 6 houses yesterday and there are two that I really liked. The rest were kind of “meh”. One of the houses is a “short sale” meaning the seller is taking a loss and the lending approval process can take even longer (up to three months). Wouldn’t you know that’s my absolute favortie of the two?
I’m meeting up with the realtor after lunch and we will be looking at even more houses. I’m hoping between yesterday and today I find what will become our new house.
I checked out the Windstone Dealer’s page and discovered there will be a dealer fairly close to where I plan on living. I’ll have the one in Mary Esther another in Fort Walton Beach as well as the three dealers (or four if the TinderBox changed their mind to keep selling) in Pensacola to see Windstones at. 😀 That makes me very happy!
August 11, 2008 at 9:56 pm #571632August 19, 2008 at 2:42 pm #571633So hubby got the second letter from his future employer yesterday saying the job offer has gone from contingent to firm. He signed and returned the letter accepting it within 15 minutes of getting the email. He starts working for them Sept. 22.
We are also going though the loan approval process on a house right now. We ended up deciding on going with a brand new house – so new in fact that the expected completion date is Sept. 21. 😆 It’s a very spacious 1821 sq. ft. three bedroom/2 full bath with a two car garage on a 0.40 acre lot (back side has some woods so we don’t have to mow the entire thing). The expected colsing date is Sept. 26 (though if things finish sooner closing can happen sooner).
We found out the military will store our stuff for a short period of time if needed and when we are ready to move it somewhere we just tell them where. We’re hoping that since where we are planning on living is less than 30 miles from his home of record that they will move it there for us. We might have to pay the difference on the distance, but I don’t think that would be too bad.

September 5, 2008 at 7:30 pm #571641Well the packers and movers came yesterday to get all of our stuff. It took 10 hours to pack it all and load it on the truck. I still haven’t braved the inventory to see how many boxes we had.
I had all the Windstones in thier boxes before the packers arrived so all they had to do was put those boxes in dish packs. My husband heard good things about the packers, saying they were the ones who moved Gereral Lynch.
For the next week we are “camping out” in our apartment while my husband finishes clearing post. While he’s running aroung getting signatures I’m at the house cleaning it of the filth that accumulated under things that haven’t been moved around in four years. 😯 My poor allergies. And then all my coughing and sneezing is probably giving my husband a cold.
We were approved for the mortgage on the house so we’ve had lots of paper work to deal with lately. The house is supposed to be complete Sept. 8, so that’s even better for us because that means if paper work is finished in time we can close even earlier. Great thing is we won’t have our stuff for a little bit at first so we can pick paint colors for the walls and do that before moving the stuff in. Finally we get to have something other than the boring creamy white that walls are painted when you are renting a place. 😀
If you don’t see me on much in the next few weeks it’s because of the cleaning and the moving and then eventually the unpacking!
September 5, 2008 at 7:46 pm #571642I love the unpacking part myself. 😆 Sounds like you have a lot on your plate but huge congrats on the new home.
September 6, 2008 at 8:34 pm #571643Best of luck with the move, Peg!
September 8, 2008 at 7:32 am #571644Sounds like everything is going well. I hope it stays that way!
September 9, 2008 at 12:22 am #571645Best of luck Peg! 🙂
