That’s absolutely ridiculous. I will try speaking to the Post Office this week and see if something can be done about this. This needs to be returned to you immediately. Do they have any idea where the package is now? The tracking still says the item is in Philadelphia. I live only 20 minutes from Philly so I was hoping I could just pick it up. I’m pretty sure all this illegal… I will have to call around and see if they are allowed to do this. I thank you for your patience and kindness about the matter and don’t mind going half’s with you until the item shows up. Please give me this week to figure out if I can do anything. Thank you so much for trying to help with this problem! I am so disgusted with the Post Office right now…

Well… given the situation what do you want to do? I know this isn’t your fault, and you know this obviously wasn’t mine either, but in the mean time if you replace the product, you’re out money, of I don’t get any product then I’m out money. I realize that. I honestly don’t think the post office will (in the long run) be held accountable for anything or take responsibility. We’re both going to end up completely screwed by them because they are experts of just blowing off their customers. I’m willing to go half on replacements if you want to do that. If by some miracle I end up getting the DVDs I can return them to you for the half refund back once you get them, but I still want the box sets.
I don’t plan on just dropping this with the post office though, but I seriously doubt they are going to do anything about it. My boyfriend’s grand father worked for the post office before he retired and he said that lost mail end up eventually getting auctioned for the states benefit it ends up in. I don’t know how the hell that’s legal, but if the sets were sent to Atlanta they should have been there by now. I have a suspicion SOMEONE in the postal system probably stole the items some how, some way.

That’s UNBELIEVABLE! They are seriously idiots. You bought multiple items from me that weight over First Class standards and that’s why the item was sent Media Mail. I’m so confused as to why they would do that? They were Media products and need to delivered to you. I refunded you the shipping difference through Paypal when the items were shipped together. You asked me of the items could ship together and I told you they could. You can’t ship anything over 13 ounces First Class Mail, therefore I combined shipping and had the item shipped Media Mail. Are they telling you that they are not going to send the items back to you???? I ship items like this Media Mail all the time to customers without ever having this problem. If they don’t plan on delivering them to you, that is considered stealing. I’m absolutely furious… I printed using the same exact address you used through Paypal to send the item to. I did absolutely nothing wrong and can’t believe they are trying to rip us off!!!

I was sick of the post office blowing me off so I spent the past two hours on the phone with several post offices in Philidelphia where the tracking says that the dvds were last according to the information in the tracking. I finally located the actual post office were the box was held at and they told me that MEDIA MAIL packages with insufficient information are NOT sent back to the sender and instead they end up in Atlanta Georgia at a Consumer Affairs Mail Recovery Center and locating them can take weeks or even months because there is ONLY ONE facility nationwide to deal with this. I called and spoke with them and they don’t know where they are, but if they do get them I have to wire them money to have them shipped anyway and that’s even if they find them. I paid for first class mail and didn’t even ask to combine the shipping and by sending them media mail instead of first class chances are excellent that these dvds are gone for good. Plus I even used buy it now on all of them so there wasn’t any need for you to skimp on the shipping method. Needless to say, I’m pretty aggravated to do all this running around and find out they were never even sent First Class Mail to begin with. If they were sent the paid for method, the DVDs would have just been sent back to you in the very worst case scenario, now who knows where they will end up. Probably freebies at some library donation since it was sent Media Mail. *sigh* I’m sorry but I’m just really annoyed about this whole thing, (those stupid voice recognition post office phone menus make me want to punch something) but what happens at this point? You were supplied all the correct information for the delivery address thru Paypal, so something must have been a miss on the label to cause this. They were shipped Media Mail which I didn’t pay for, I paid for First Class, so I don’t see why I should be out my money and the DVDs I still want. What should we do at this point to get this resolved?

Hey there, just an update. I called the USPS again and they issued me a case number and are supposed to be contacting a sorting facility in PA where the last communication of the tracking was. They are supposed to call me later today or by tomorrow with an update to what the heck is going on. I’m hoping they can reroute it with the address information I gave them over the phone. In the meantime, if you get them sent back to you please let me know. Thanks.

If you look up the tracking it reads “insuffecient address” and now they are at a sort faculity in PA for some reason. Your in NJ and I’m in MA so you might have to contact the post office and give them clarification on my address.

My dad is an eBay seller and EVERY package he sent that had to pass through the Philly sort facility NEVER LEFT Philly. This happened about a half dozen times in the past year! When my dad went to talk to the post office they told him “packages get lost sometimes”. Then there must be a whole warehouse filled with “lost” packages in Philly!!!!! 😐
Yup, they told me it must have been sent to Atlanta to the “Mail Recovery Center” if they need a while center just for lost mail then they have freaking problems.
On top of that, I have been waiting WITH MY DOOR WIDE OPEN ALL DAY for UPS waiting for my Silver Old Warrior. DUDE! MY DOOR IS OPEN! OBVIOUSLY I AM HOME! I have been checking every 10 minutes for UPS I go to check and there’s a “sorry we missed you sticky note” stuck to glass front of my OPEN DOOR! WTH is with these shipping companies lately!?! I just called and I missed them by 3 minutes!!!! THREE!!!!! I called to see if he would turn around and they are like “Oh, we’ll call you back in an hour to see if he can come back today” Really? In an hour he’s going to be on the other side of town. GOD!!! I HATE UPS AND USPS!!!

I don’t know how it even GOT to Philly… it STARTED in New Jersey and was supposed to come to Massachusetts…. How it got turned around and sent back to NJ and then to PA of all places I have no clue…
I feel bad, but the only thing I can think of doing is starting a Paypal claim, not yet… but it might have to come to that. I sent a message to the seller offering to go halvsies on replacements so were share the problem since it’s not either of our faults. He’s going to look into it and get back to me.
I have to say, for a power seller, the guy has really been very quick on responding to my messages so I have to give him a chance. He’s TRYING to make good on it.
In other news, I feel like I just made a drug deal, but at least I got my Silver Old warrior. I JUST got back! UPS actually called me back and had me meet the driver in a vacant lot a few miles from my house to let me retrieve the package. LOL! It was awkward… but at least I got it before the return it to sender. Since my last box got stolen they won’t leave me packages… of course, the won’t know on my door apparently either. >_<
Now! Off to rip the box open!

I arrive to work tonight (I work as a Unix Systems Administrator) to find out that the floor below me was broken into and one of the VPs of the company, had his contracting company laptop stolen, along with some other equipment (though much of it was old laptops just sitting in a room without hard drives waiting to be thrown out). The office is ‘oh so secure’ with a glass door on the second floor. The guy just broke the latch and then jimmied/broke some locks to the offices. The guy cased the joint earlier in the day when an employee was leaving and asked about what was in the building/looking for a drug clinic (there is one next door). Yeah. There are other offices/companies on the other floors, and they have been broken into before. The 4th floor is where I worked up until last year when they moved everyone to 5th floor. 5th and 4th floors also do not have fire escapes (it stops at the 3rd floor). Karma is that VP is the one who gave me a really hard time around my review for time off. If you’re sick you’re sick, but the company average is only 20 hours per YEAR, so I was way over… such a bad employee… all the extra hours I worked to exhaustion didn’t count at all, and they won’t write the company average down anywhere – I was told because they’d have to change it when the average changes, so other people get told different hours, as I have confirmed by other employees.
Two-three years ago, there was a rape in the garage either below the building or next door. Work wanted me to park in the garage for safety and I said NO WAY! I park out in the main lot that actually has visibility and is right next to the door. The thing is, my coworker on shift and I could have just decided to walk down the stairs to our car or to have to drive over to the datacenter and run into the guy, with no idea how he would have reacted. My VP could have been in his office. If the guy came up to the 5th floor that I’m on (top floor), if he didn’t want to break the glass on the card reader access door, he could have just broken the glass on the glass encased front of the secretary’s office or forced the lock on the door and walked right through her office, through the closet conference room and through the door that is about 10 feet or less from where my coworker and I sit. I asked about getting a security guard when the company I’m contracted to wanted contractor’s off site and they moved us over here, but they opted out (they wouldn’t pay any company enough and decided that they didn’t feel comfortable because they wouldn’t know the security guard, because, you know, security guards are supposed to be your friend – read sarcasm).
They won’t let people work from home because they just can’t do that (no real valid reason and it is only their rule, but yet they let some people do that at their discretion, but only when they feel like it and with no real rule). I’ve got multiple applications out elsewhere and my coworker has a possible work from home opportunity opening up thanks to his wife, so hopefully, we’ll both be out of here sooner rather than later. I’d really like to see someone’s head explode when they find themselves having to backfill both 2nd shift positions at the same exact time! *evil grin* J) Both of us have been shafted for ever being able to get onto first shift because ‘we’re too valuable’ but there is no differential or extra pay for working the shift. They just don’t want to have to find an off-shift person. They won’t hire a recent grad, because they don’t think they’ll stay, but they don’t want to pay anything decent to those who can do the work.
I was off the shift for a couple of months last year and on days, but came back from a few days vacation to be put back on 2nd immediately because the person they moved there couldn’t handle the work. The guy is completely incompetent and untrainable, so they created a position that he just has to pass out tickets to people, and he can’t even send them to the correct people half the time. Time to move on to something better! Oh, did I forget to say that I heard gun shots a few blocks from work again last night? Yeah. So much for the police station being 2 blocks away. I work on the edge of the ghetto (for real)! :steve:
NOTE: I have been thinking very good thoughts and positively toward getting out of this place and into something better. Just felt a rant was deserved. The cut off dates for everything I have out end this week or just ended, so if I’m going to hear anything (and I have a few that are very promising), I should hear back sometime in the next few weeks. *FINGERS CROSSED* I’m so close I can smell it! SNIFF SNIFF!

About two months ago a dog showed up on our porch. She looks like a big black and white pit bull of some sort. It was a friday night and the local humane society wasn’t open until the following Monday. So my neighbors and I took turns giving her some food and water and loves for the weekend.
**SIDE NOTE** I really don’t like dogs. Especially big dogs. I LOVE this dog! This dog is INCREDIBLY well mannered and trained. She followed my husband to the mailbox one day and he said, “Wait here, don’t come near the road” and she stopped dead in her tracks, sat, and waited for him to return! :O She understands when we talk to her! Not just “sit” and “stay”, but EVERYTHING! She’s a wonderdog!
Anyway, Monday morning my neighbor called the humane society because she obviously belongs to someone! They came out and found she was microchipped. So they gave my neighbor the phone number and the owner (who lives 8 miles away) came and got her. My neighbor says she was not happy to see her owner.Two weeks or so later, she’s back! She traveled 8 miles to come back to my front porch! My neighbor called the owner and he came and got her again.
Two weeks or so later, she’s back again! This time she has an invisible fence collar on. My neighbor threw the phone number away and she doesn’t have an ID tag so she’s still here. Neither of us have called the humane society.
Isn’t it weird that a dog would keep walking 8 miles to keep coming to the same house? It’s been two weeks and the owner hasn’t even driven past to look for her. I don’t want to bring her in and let my little ones get attached just to have the owner come back (we know she’s good with kids because the owner had several small children). My hubby thinks she’s a breeding dog for fighting dogs, but I think that’s an extreme assumption. I just don’t know what to do, so I’ve been calling her “Lola” and feeding her Chihuahua food until we figure out what to do.
Scratching what I previously wrote, on thinking on my drive home from work, I have doubts that she was a fighting dog or breeder for someone involved in that. They generally don’t let their dogs get away so easily, let alone microchip or use invisible fencing (which doesn’t work for stubborn or very strong willed dogs very well, especially smart ones). Might be interesting to see how she is with temperament towards things like food (is she food aggressive) or other animals. Still, for her to keep coming back and for her to truly not be happy to see her owner, that tells me she isn’t happy with that situation. Since she’s been returned more than once, for the owner not to be looking either? Pitbulls aren’t dumb (though I’m sure every breed has their ‘Odie’ examples 😉 (for non-US readers, if you don’t read ‘Garfield’, look up the character Odie ). Maybe she has found your family for a reason? I know we found our Lucky, or rather, he found us, by chance through someone, and we weren’t looking at getting another dog at all. Same with Casey (since passed on). You just never know. If the owner doesn’t come back, I’d say just play it by ear over the summer introducing her into the household.
Skeeterdee – Oh, I’m job hunting. I did have an interview today (the company did speed interviews), but the hours are worse than the night shift I have now – night shift AND taking my weekends, and working until 1am just as far away!), so that isn’t a go for me. However, I do have an interview for a state job Friday and I may have a lead and in through a manager I’ve worked with where I am now who just gave his notice. Something that’s a fit will come along. Something has to give at some point!
Drag0n…O.O wow! It does sound like a conspiracy. Makes me glad I don’t live on the east coast. Someone should report that “Philly sort facility” to some government agency for them to investigate. That sounds pretty shifty to me. I hope you have some good shipping/postal luck to offset this bad spell.

Skeeter-“Lola” sounds like a real gem! You tried to return her to her owners, and shes obviously not happy. If I were you, I’d keep her. Let her stay outside, so if she decides she wants to go back to her other home, she’ll have the chance…but she seems pretty happy with you 🙂 Isnt it funny how animals know when you dont like them, and they will cling to you? Lola knew you didn’t like dogs, so she picked you. My BF wasn’t a big cat person when we met, and our cats knew it! They snuggle up with him and let him hold them-I love and snuzzle their cute little fluffy heads off, and they’re like “oh..its you. Okay yeah whatever.” with Josh its “OMG you’re HERE!!! LOVE ME, RUB MY BELLY, SNUZZLE ME PLEEEAASEEE!!!”
