I plan to do the ticking of the scales and the final polish tonight. Then maybe I can get pictures up tomorrow. π
August 15, 2008 at 5:45 am #702940Okay, I’ve finished the painting. I tried to take pictures last night, but the weather has been gray and rainy for the past few days and they turned out chalky, pasty and gloomy-looking. The weekend should bring better weather, so bear with me until then. π
August 16, 2008 at 12:18 am #702941ohh i can’t wait to see the pics… π

The weather over the weekend was jsut as gray as on Friday, and today is no better. Tomorrow is supposed to thunder again… And they call this August. πΏ
This is the best picture I got, and it’s not very good. The color is much brighter and richer than the photo shows.
I’ll be sending the kirin to Phoenix tomorrow; the weather in California should allow for better pictures than mine. Sorry. πAugust 18, 2008 at 6:34 am #702943oh wow…that’s looking so beautiful!
^^ Marzena, you don’t really want this kirin, you want to send it back to me when it’s finished.
*does te Jedi hand wave thing*
Great Job GB, those scales are beautiful
August 18, 2008 at 8:26 am #702944I sure hope that was done on both sides…it’s gorgous. Now I have to look at her wings again and see if there is any green in them, I think there is, not much though.
I think I am going to have to get new wings…we’ll see though.

August 18, 2008 at 10:48 am #702945Thank you, Leigha.
Yes, Kyrin, I did paint both sides more or less symmetrically. I have a photo of the other side but it’s washed-out and ugly-looking.
Sorry the coloring doesn’t match the wings. I chose phthalo green because it matched the sheen of the iridescent green on the leg and tail scales. I hope you can still work with it.August 18, 2008 at 12:27 pm #702946Oh wow is that a gorgeous looking Kirin or what!
August 18, 2008 at 2:12 pm #702947Thanks, Pegasi. it makes me feel better that you say that, even though the photo is so lousy. π
August 18, 2008 at 2:37 pm #702948OK. Now, I’m nervous π―

I think he looks great just like that!I’m right there with you on the nervousness thing! Man, I was hoping this guy would get to me before school (since I have more then enough time) but it’s not looking that way.
*still thinking on what I’ll do with him… hmm… π I know what I’m going to do with him! π
August 18, 2008 at 7:20 pm #702952Which part are you painting? I don’t see much left open.

I hope you can still work with it.I’m sure I can, but I am most likely going to need a different set of wings, the ones I have have too much red browns and golds to even possibly match this now.
No worries though, plenty of wings out there.
