I like them both… but if I had to choose this time around, Id say all fancy.
Seems like everyone loves this sculpt, and Im guessing another batch would be much appreciated 😉
July 24, 2015 at 4:57 pm #932331Please keep the plains! I like them just as they are. I will even risk getting a fancy (no hardship there I’d just prefer plain) if you combine them into one batch. I’m not much into trading but I’d do it so I can get a chance of getting one of the beautiful “plain” ones.
I think all the tanukis will be in carts within the first 5 minutes LOL
July 24, 2015 at 5:06 pm #932332We can’t really limit people to one, when there are two batches, I don’t think Susie can possibly sort that one out.
Maybe I should just make em all fancy.Just make the rest of them mantis shrimp. 🙂
This!
Lol!!
Wanted: "Dragon Fruit" Male Dragon ~ "Fire Berry", "Paradise", "Dragon Fruit", "Tie Dye" ~ The brighter, the better!

Maybe I should just make em all fancy.I think that if there is enough fancy ones, release them and then make more of the plain ones for a later release. Like with the brindle wolves. But I agree a lot of us like the plain ones and those should stay plain, in a different batch. The hippie batch was very small too and was released with the larger batch of hoppy ones.
July 24, 2015 at 5:49 pm #932336It sounds like there is a distinct separation of those who like the Plain and who want the Fancy, so perhaps there wouldn’t be too much of an issue having them as two batches released at the same time with a one/customer limit for each batch. Again, similar to the Hippie/Hoppie poad batches. 🙂

July 26, 2015 at 10:52 pm #932414I’m thinkin the disappointment level will stay lower if there is two batches, I’ve been there where I wanted one style, got an entirely different style and couldn’t trade for what I wanted…
Also, paying the price of a fancy and gettin a basic seems a bit unfair, given you price for how much time it takes and general value is based on the detail level…
July 26, 2015 at 11:09 pm #932415I wrote this in the “Store” thread – might as well repeat it here:
I also watched the livestream (all three hours of it :p ) and had my mind changed several times on plain vs fancy. For me, it really depends on the individual piece and not the style. I think one large batch is much the best option.
BTW … I don’t think all the tanukis divide neatly into “plain” or “fancy”. Some of the “plain” ones have a lot of shading or marbling on them. The “fancy” patterns range from quite simple to extremely elaborate – everything from tiger stripes to “River Rock Mosaic” and “Faberge”.
July 26, 2015 at 11:57 pm #932416^^^^^ I had the same reaction to the live stream. Prior to it, I thought the “plain” (sorry, I just hate calling them plain with all that gorgeous shading and gradation of color) were lovely, but I was definitely going to hope to get a fancy. But after seeing more of the plain “up close” so to speak, there are some that I would absolutely take over most of the fancies. What I thought of as arctic ones – whites with subtle blues were stunning and those I considered “natural” with the browns/tans/almost gold – just beautiful. I still can see the logic of splitting into two groups so that those who have a very strong preference are less likely to be disappointed, but assuming I am able to get on when they come out, I have no idea which group I will pick.
July 27, 2015 at 12:15 am #932417I’m thinking one batch would be best to be able to get Something!
Since some have multiple people in households, and I’m only me, I’m troubled that I might be left out entirely if these are two separate batches, and you can get one from each batch.
You remember how many there were in the Standing Ki-Rin batches right? Well, if Susie hadn’t had a few stragglers that she offered I wouldn’t have Any GB Standing Baby Ki-Rin -Koi OR Fantasy – from those two GB Standing Baby Ki-Rin batches. I don’t have a Mom, Sister, Boyfriend, Niece, etc, that can also look out for me, and order one on my behalf.
I’m thinking now that one batch of 125 would work best and people can trade. My 2 cents for what it’s worth. I would like to have a decent chance at getting one.

I thought it was feathers, but no…it’s a turtle! Thank you dragonmedley for pointing that out! That is so neat!
Question, not sure if it’s been asked yet, but is the leopard in this batch above the same one that is on eBay now?
