…omg. Instead of “cannot unsee”, now it’s “cannot unhear”.
I haven’t seen a pic of these little guys yet, so here is my copper patina young oriental dragon. He seems to have very heavy patina covering and one other thing that is driving me nuts…almost every single scale has a wrinkled texture. I know copper patinas are rescues, but I usually have to search to find imperfections…this guy certainly has “character”. i’d love to see other photos to see if they are all this way; his wrinkly skin is why I haven’t purchased the adult oriental in copper patina to keep him company.
Lupus – My guy doesn’t have wrinkly scales and has very little patina. He’s actually mostly smooth copper and I love him. 🙂
Lupus: You got one of the “old” copper patinas! The wrinkled look is intentional. Its purpose was to cover up small holes and other defects in the rescues, and make the piece look more like worn copper. Unfortunately, only one painter knew how to create this texture (it was done using an airbrush), and they left. So, since then all of our CP’s have been painted with smoother scales. I don’t know if there are any plans to “re-invent” the wrinkled texture for CP dragons.
Lupus, I know there area few forum members who really like that texture, so if you wanted to trade for a smooth one you probably wouldn’t have much trouble. I bought a Young and an Adult and they’re both smooth.
Thanks for the information, Pam! I feel better knowing it was intentional, but still not sure how I feel about a young dragon with all those wrinkles!
Glad to know the copper patina adults are a smoother bunch, I’m sooo getting one when I get my birthday funds now!
Many of the CP adults are not smoother. Basically, any CP made prior to a few months ago will probably be heavily textured. Any that were made after that, and any that we are making currently, will be smoother. So, most (if not all?) of the CPs in the store right now are smoother.

I found using photobucket easy. You upload your pics there, then label them. You can then click on the pic and it will have a space for HTML, if you click on it it copies it then come here and paste it, Simple.
