This is a recast. A good one at that, but still a recast. At least I am 99% sure it is. The eyes are painted which is a tell tale sign. Usually the people who make these are smart enough to alter the logo enough so it doesn’t say PENA right on it (hence they wouldn’t get in as much trouble for a direct recast). Which is why I say be careful and look at what you’re buying! They may have even been smart ehough to put real jewels in, it’s hard to tell. As far as knock offs go, it’s a well done one.
Also, not saying the seller made thisor intentionally is selling knowing it’s a knock off, it’s possible they don’t even know it’s a fake.

But the thing that bugs me the most is the way it’s painted so much like an Old Peacock. That’s particularly bad manners from whoever made it. 😐 I do hope the seller is truly not aware it’s a fake.

Your fine. However, this is a full blown copyright infringement. Did you email John about it? I haven’t seen this before myself, but maybe some others have.

Just curious… Is this real or a fake?
Its a brown mother dragon, she has blue eyes. When I looked her up on http://www.astralcastle.com/windstone/wsframe.htm the eyes did not look blue, rather a orange or light brownish color (pic isnt the best so hard to tell) …
So, is this listing on ebay real or not? Maybe it is a real one, but I cant find anything else like her online that is similar to her color scheme.

She should be real. The Astral Castle site shows the Old Old Old Brown mother dragon that was one of the first pieces released. She did have gold eyes – the later Old Brown dragon family had blue eyes (as any other Brown dragon sculpt on Astral Castle should show).
