I suspect it is the emperor that was first mentioned in the “Help” thread:

March 14, 2013 at 10:13 pm #894646I think it’s a legitimate old green emperor, not a repaint. The amount of blue and purple interference paint on them can vary quite a bit. I think it was WolfenMachine who had one that had very little interference paint. Most others (like the one I have) have quite a bit. There can also be varying amounts of brown on them.
The only thing about it that seems a bit off to me is the shoulder which looks reddish, but that could be the picture. I’d love to see more pictures from more angles on this guy.
Here’s a picture of mine. The purple doesn’t show up well because my camera doesn’t capture purple well.
March 14, 2013 at 10:44 pm #894650I think he might be a legitimate, real, old green emp, also. I think the reddish you are seeing on the shoulders is the orange hues that they accented old green dragons with, but it’s been overlayed with interference paints.
Someone at the factory back then was just really having a party with the purple. I can’t blame them. I get excited and add too much intereference colors myself, sometimes… 😉
Honestly though, if it’s real, it might be kinda special because of the variation. Melody might know?

Oh I can see it now, it just must be the photo, it’s so very different looking than yours!
March 19, 2013 at 8:03 am #894838Is it within etsy’s rules to sell windstones at all on thier site? If you search it multiple pieces come up as well as someones own scultpures of a foodog and a “peacock gryphon sculpture” and kirin etc.
So I am not sure, but
um here are some links:http://www.etsy.com/search?q=windstone&view_type=gallery&ship_to=US

i don know I only posted some, but the first is the search on windstone, the next three are sculptures that seem to infinge on windstone, the last is one of the peices for sale on etsy.

Always open for pyo commissions, repairs and fine artwork! Email me for current prices! awier(@)weaselsoneasels.comMarch 19, 2013 at 1:42 pm #894842Only the little kirin sculpt looks like a knock-off of a Windstone sculpt to me. The others are not being sold under the Etsy ‘Handmade’ category, but under the ‘Vintage’ category, where things not made by the seller are permitted. However, I don’t know how about the fact that they’re being sold in the ‘Vintage’ category, as it looks like that should be for items at least 20 years old. That may be true for some Windstones, but not for all, and of course the seller may not be aware that Windstones are still being made.
March 19, 2013 at 4:17 pm #894847I was curious, cause had a few items and they came up when i searched “windstone”, and i thought it strange that she would have three things melody had made in the past, with similar names under that search. maybee just keyword spamming i dont know. wasnt sure.

EDIT: I just looked at the sculptures, and they don’t have “windstone” as a tag/keyword. I don’t get them to come up in searches for “windstone” either. So I am not sure but I don’t think they are a problem?

It looks real to me.
March 19, 2013 at 5:31 pm #894851That last one is painted pretty close to Peacock which I believe is copywrited. But do people actually buy painted chicken and turkey feet, WTH?
Hey, I bought some painted chicken feet. The turkey foot I bought isn’t painted though.

Etsy does have a “vintage” section, so I guess used Windstones are ok. Selling your own pyos is ok too.
March 19, 2013 at 5:38 pm #894853Has anyone ever been to The Copper Dragon? http://www.thecopperdragon.com/miscellaneousseasonal.htm
Also, the face design and scale placement on the head and neck of this dragon, looks a lot like an Emperor Dragon.

That same etsy artist has a foo dog that has features (tail, mane, face) that look strikingly like Melody’s mother foo.

More like… half a repaint? D: That’s really a shame, he has the orange eyes too! I understand repainting a figure to a different color that is unavailable but partially repainting a dragon? It’s not some kind of special emperor or somesuch is it? How very odd.
ooooo, that emp is gorgeous! He looks a LOT like the old green emp that was featured in some of Windstone’s first product catalogs.
Akso just an fyi, orange is the standard eye color for the green dragons. On emerald dragons, a very few got orange by mistake, and are rarer than the normal red-eyed emerald dragons.
March 25, 2013 at 10:54 pm #895158This is an interesting peice were any males done in this color before?
kinda bad pics
