On the scales on the spine of the first the paint is purple and the scales of the spine of the second the paint is like clear gold, so I asked if is normal (I thought there aren’t variant of colors) or not. In first, I thought it was a fake. So, it’s just a different coloration, right ?
Edit: Ok, thanks for your answer pegasi1978.
October 23, 2009 at 3:55 pm #708694I think the color difference is due to lighting and angle of photography. They both look totally legitimate to me. 🙂

I will keep my eyes open, and post if I see anything.October 30, 2009 at 11:39 pm #708700Kalandra wrote:After reading thru this topic…. I am really surprised how ulgy all the knockoffs are that have been spotted. Nothing can compair to a true windstone 😀
I will keep my eyes open, and post if I see anything. Some of the early knock offs of Windstone were very close indeed… the only way to tell was to check the bottom, see how heavy the piece is, and/or the eyes were often plastic. Otherwise they looked just like real Windstones. I recall there being a mother dragon like this, and possibly a male. Luckily the infringe was stopped years ago on that one but sometimes the old pieces pop up on eBay.

The second looks like a color infringement on the Emerald Orientals :nea: .November 5, 2009 at 11:43 pm #708704Horrible paint job on that “Mother” yech…I wonder if that was a real Windstone that got repainted or one of the fake plaster ones from forever ago. Either way that thing is NOT in “great condition”…. 🙄

Indeed. It kinda looks like a bad bootleg casting, and the eyes are obviously not Windstone issue either :nea: .
November 6, 2009 at 3:00 pm #708706I wrote a note to that seller, just a friendly one, letting him know it’s not the real thing and he either needs to change the description or take the auction down.
I mean he’s blatantly advertising it as an authentic Windstone and it’s NOT. Isn’t that illegal?

Thanks. I was actually going to do that myself but kept chickening out 😳 . I’m pretty sure it’s not kosher to describe it as a real Windstone. It’s also possible the seller really doesn’t know it’s a fake and is making an honest mistake  . But who knows? I wonder how they will respond to you… -
