What do you guys think of this one:

I see a combination of a peacock scratching and male dragon.
I’d send it to John. The scales in areas are identical to the Windstone male dragon. Not the usual ugly knock-offs we see; I kind of like it (minus the chick).

:nea: No John wouldn’t think it’s any threat. Doesn’t look like a Windstone. The pose is different and people can still do green and blue dragons but not if it resembles the Windstone color patern.

I don’t know about that. Take a look at the scaling on the chest and the front legs. It’s almost exactly like the male dragon. It even got the little golden highlights on the tale scales. I don’t quite think it’s different enough.

 OK I take that back…I also notice some similarity in the scales of the face. Wow that is a good catch Skylover! 🙂
Are you going to send it to John or do you want me to send it to him on your behalf and send you a copy of the email at the same time? But I’ll need your email for that. 😉

Thank you. I’ve already sent him an email, but he doesn’t really know me or my email address. If you would like to email him as well, it might be for the best. I can PM you my email if you want to send him a letter as well.

If you did then he’ll open it for sure! 🙂
If not and you still want me to send an email just Pm me your email so I can send you a copy.

I believe the exact title I used was “Possible Windstone Infringement.” I’ll go ahead and PM you with my email address in case you want to email him as well. Thanks for the help.

I was just wondering if this one would count, an ad on craigslist here: http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/clt/1323892761.html

The seller states in the ad “There is no signature but it looks very similiar to dragons seen online by M. Pena at Windstone”

Also in the title, the words “Peacock Dragon” are used in reference to the colours I suppose.

Would this be considered keyword spamming too?

Just trying to be helpful! 🙂

I believe that that has been sent to Jon before, they are on eBay all the time, besides the colour it is a copy of the young dragon with a crappy head put on it.

Keyword spamming? In the description, they say it’s not a Windstone (but ‘very similair to the Windstone hatching peacock dragon’). The title makes it sound like a Windstone though. The egg particularly reminds me of Melody’s eggs in the way it’s cracking, though it makes my head hurt and run to think of how 3 babies are supposed to fit into a single egg.

Reported to ebay. According to Ebay’s rules for listings:

                    Quote:

                    Listings must not misrepresent items.

Sellers need to make sure that their listings accurately represent the item being sold. When sellers use unfair methods to divert buyers to their listing, it’s called search and browse manipulation.

Except as noted in the specific policy as exceptions, sellers cannot:
                    * List items in inappropriate categories.
                    * Misrepresent the item location from which their item will be shipped.
                    * Include brand names or other inappropriate keywords in a title or description.
                    * Have misleading titles that do not accurately describe the item for sale.
                    * List items with product details from our catalog, but then describe a different item in the description.

Not to mention that the wing and foreclaw of the hatching dragon reaaally looks like one of the Windstone Hatchers (Empress, maybe?). This auction needs to be corrected or pulled.

                      Windstone collector in remission. 😉

I see a combination of a peacock scratching and male dragon.

From an artist’s perspective, I think the artist used a Male Dragon as reference so he wouldn’t have to take the time to figure out all the anatomy himself. It would be easier to design the scale sizing/placement if you had an exquisite, anatomically-correct looking dragon like Melody’s. Then all you would have to do is embellish and change things slightly. But if you look past the embellishments and small changes, the scales seem to be laid out exactly like the male dragon’s.

Here is a copy, sort of I guess of a Young Dragon I found on Craigslist, listed under a Windstone dragon….http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/clt/1337508144.html

BLEH…that thing is jut butt ugly compared to a Windstone. In fact, for the person selling it to compare it to a Windstone is an insult!!
