Hi.I have bought a black/rose wizard. It has the Pena 86 logo and felt.My question is.Should you be able to scape the paint off by just lightly cleaning? It was dirty. My old green and brown dragons do not lose their paint THAT easy or is it the original finish back then?Got it off e-bay last week.Just curious
With those older wizards the paint can be kind of flakey. I have an old blue/rose wizard and a second blue wizard and if I’m not careful handling them the paint does flake off in certain areas. BTW the Blue/Rose is very rare…there have only been two sighted on ebay in the last 2 years.

“Oh wow, Wiz, I’ve always wanted to be a Unicorn. High five on that!… Oh, wait, this is more awkward than I was expecting…”May 17, 2009 at 5:25 am #708575I am wondering about this?
If you scroll down to the part that says “hacker beware” there on their logo is the Sentinal Gargoyle, is that allowed?

May 30, 2009 at 7:57 pm #708578After seeing Jennifers message I took another look at the eBay item and she is right the picture has been removed since I looked at it. Anybody think this resembles the curlie?

The first one obviously is a problem, the second one probably is but is John’s decision. I don’t think the hatching dragonsnake guy is a problem though. 🙂

Sadly there are no images in that auction, something is goofy! I can’t see it. 🙁

My art: featherdust.comJune 7, 2009 at 4:52 am #708580I don’t know about this one, but on Facebook there is a thing called “pieces of flair” and I loked up “Windstone” and found a photo of a male kirin, and I also typed in “hippocampus” and found Jennifer’s hippocampus painting. Can you do anything about this?
July 12, 2009 at 3:52 am #708581Wow how about this one. Looks a bit motherly to me.

Oh yah–then this one is selling the 2009 version of the Armadillo as a vintage 1984 one, though there’s no description. He’s also using the store photo.

July 12, 2009 at 4:29 am #708582yes, I think you should send the first auction to John that does look like a mold of the Mother Dragon–As far as the second auction, my Armadillo DOES have ’84 stamped on it, but I think the seller knows better, because they must have purchased it from the online store, therefore knows it is the 2009 edition. Also, they are using store photo without permission, but then they are not the first to do so. On the other hand, the fact that they are using store photo is sort of a dead giveaway to collectors that this is NOT the vintage ’84 Armadillo, but maybe you should go ahead and let John send him/her a note and ask them to correct their listing as well. We have had other sellers claim that Melody has signed and painted items before, just because of a stamp on a piece, when it was NOT signed, and have written to the seller, and received extremely rude responses back, and refusals to revise their listings in the past, and I am not sure if this situation is something John handles or not.
July 12, 2009 at 5:14 am #708583Thanks–I will. I actually sent him a message about it all and got a very fast response. Here’s how the conversation went:
“The signed versions of these armadillos are a new, 2009 release. The artist, Melody Pena, found a group of unpainted armadillo castings, and made a small signed batch for 2009. You may want to edit your description, and most buyers prefer to see a photo of the item, instead of the Windstone Store photography. Thanks for reading!”
“thanks i know this But this is the 1984 release that she signed not the 2009 version thanks”
“I see–that’s really cool! You might want to add that to the description though, you will probably get a lot more interest as the older armadillos are very rare, especially a signed one. I would suggest putting up a photo of yours; the photo you’re using is of the ’09 version, which is painted much differently than the 1984 version. Good luck with selling him. Thanks for getting back!”
Personally I think he’s either full of crap or doesn’t know much about Windstones.
July 12, 2009 at 7:15 am #708584But she did sign all those 2009 releases of the Armadillos! They all come with COA’s–if he actually had a 1984, it would be a gray color, and I don’t think it has a felt bottom–I saw one on Ebay once, in fact I wondered if it was really a Windstone, but it sold for a lot of money, Melody was even curious to see that auction then. 😀
July 12, 2009 at 12:59 pm #708585Yah–so he’s either full of crap or doesn’t know much about Windstones 😆 I humored him a bit; maybe he will edit the description.
July 12, 2009 at 10:29 pm #708586I sent him a note last night, asking him since he did not have the actual picture of the armadillo, just the picture from the online store, could he tell me if his was gray or brown, and also asked if he had a cerificate of authenticity, since it was signed by Melody Pena. The seller has not answered me yet. I will post answer if or when I get one, but due to the sellers answers to you, it looks like something that John should be alerted to, number one, for using store photo without permission and number two, intentionally misleading advertising. :spank: :spank:
July 12, 2009 at 10:42 pm #708587Sounds to me like the seller could be confusing the copyright stamp with an actual signature on a felt pad. Happens a lot when sellers aren’t as familiar with Windstones as we are.
