Everyone did such a great job on these so it was really hard to narrow down my decision. Bravo to all the entrants for their fantastic designs. It would be fantastic to see the winners get the chance to see their dragons “Come To Life” on an actual Emperor. I think it would be well worth the effort in my opinion. 🙂
September 24, 2012 at 11:42 pm #886727I can’s view any of the pictures, digital or traditional, even when I click on them. Anyone else having this problem?
Sorry, Photobucket can get grouchy sometimes! Please let me know if they don’t show up later. I’m going to try to post them on Facebook as well tonight so at least you can go look at them there if Photobucket is being difficult. 🙂
September 25, 2012 at 12:45 am #886731I voted as well. Man, I so wish I made more time for this >_< Between work and organizing the swap I was dead to the world all month! LOL!
Good luck to all the entries! That are all amazing!

We ask you NOT claim your quest submissions anywhere prior to judging. That way our judges can remain completely unbiased in selecting entries.
We also ask that you continue to not claim your entry on the Windstone Forum or Facebook (or any other official Windstone location in case we expand to other places on the web) during the voting periods. Some members have requested anonymity in their own submissions, so we are trying to honor that.
HOWEVER – We can’t police the internet. 🙂 So, you are welcome to post your entry to your Facebook, email your friends, call your mom, etc.
Just as long as it is not on a site that is owned or managed by Windstone, it’s just fine (so you can post your entry to your OWN Facebook page, but you can’t post a message about it to Windstone’s Official Facebook wall.)
There is also an unofficial Windstone group on Facebook and what you do there is your own business. 🙂
Please let me know if you have any questions. If you don’t want to post them publicly, you can certainly send a PM. 🙂
September 25, 2012 at 2:41 am #886733How do we vote? I couldn;t find a link or anything on the entry pages?

They all look awesome btw, everyone! There should be a poll for each category below the entries.
Are you trying to vote from a Mac or iPad? I’ve had problems with that before on the polls.
September 25, 2012 at 4:16 am #886737Voted! Good luck to all the finalists! 😀

I thought this was a coloring contest. Where design and rendition had something to do with it. How disappointing.

Hi opal,
I can absolutely understand your feelings here, but unfortunately this is the type of thing that there’s just no way for us to control or regulate.
We _might_ be able to catch some people sharing things on their Facebook page, but we can’t see everyone’s Facebook wall/email account/etc. For every person we caught, there might be someone we DON’T know about.
Putting in a rule that we can’t consistently enforce will just lead to frustration. So, ultimately, it’s more fair to allow everyone to do it freely than to foster an environment of people trying to seek out other people “breaking the rules”.
September 25, 2012 at 10:19 pm #886766Dont take me wrong hun, I am not saying you guys should have to police the internet. And I am not complaining about how the competition is set up. Truely I am not “complaining” at all per se. I am just rather dissappointed that some people would resort to such measures to win. I really thought the spirit of competition and integrity of everyone here was much higher.
I just felt strongly enough about this I had to say something. Normally I probably would just sit and be quiet, but this sort of thing has always left a rotten taste in my mouth.September 25, 2012 at 10:35 pm #886767Dont take me wrong hun, I am not saying you guys should have to police the internet. I really did strongly debate making this something that would lead to a disqualification, but I am absolutely at a loss on how that could be done successfully. It’s tricky enough to track my 13-year-old step-son’s actions on the internet. 🙂
It seemed like the best way to level the playing field was to announce it was allowed so EVERYONE can do it if they wish rather than to just leave it to a few people who were in theory doing it anyway. 🙂
Also, please feel free to question anything about the quests! Even though this is number 7, it’s still very much a learning process! I appreciate any and all input so we can continue to try to keep them as fair and fun as possible. 🙂
September 25, 2012 at 10:37 pm #886769Oh, also, I have no idea who was sharing these on Facebook. All the inquiries I received were private and just asked “I saw someone doing this, is it okay?” No one was named – so I’m not aiming this at anyone. I don’t know who did it! 🙂 (Or if they even did since I don’t have names and can’t really investigate!)

This.
But this being the case, I’m not voting on this one. I know too many of you, and would prefer not to know who’s work is whos. Not to mention it’s just too hard to pick a favorite anyway. 😉September 26, 2012 at 3:41 am #886782Opal – I felt pretty strongly about this very issue the last time we had a contest with voting like this.. but because of the reasons Kiya mentioned above about the contest being impossible to police the way that would make it the MOST fair (which, trust me, I’d prefer it that way if it was possible) I came to the conclusion that, “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” :/
Commission spots are currently closed! Please message me for details.
Please visit My Webpage to see my art and PYO's that I've done in the past!September 26, 2012 at 4:46 am #886783I briefly toyed with the idea of making everyone “friend” me to enter a quest, but that seems kind of desperate 😉
Also, it’s not hard to filter FB status updates, so it wouldn’t really help
