Darn! I’d love to have gotten in on these. I had a blast with the traveling muse. That’s what I get for being offline for a week to go to a friend’s wedding in Virginia Beach.
There was also a traveling dragon that never finished his rounds. He seemed to have gotten stuck somewhere along the way and never updated after that.
September 30, 2009 at 3:30 pm #784560Just a bit of confusion on my part. How is it working with Koishii’s interference at the end? I always apply interference and powders as I paint. Been doing it since day one, really.

Ummm That’s a good question…I’ll ask her to post a response! =P Maybe she’ll only do it for highlights on sections that need a little shimmer shimmer and skip places where people have already put it on? Iunno, I hadn’t thought that one through 🙄 Thanks for brining it up!

I have never really….thought of using interference with the paints while painting.( i actualy had to grab one of the keepers i did to look at so i can explain this)
When I paint, myself, I do a basecoat of flat opaque, then i do all my metalic paints, and i combine/layer these using multiple colors. some times using opaque with the metalic to enhance the metalic color or shade.
they often look very pretty.
After that I add powders(some times, not all of them get powder treatment) this is in small amounts with a dry brush type method. not complete drybrush, but i use a simaler method so i can controle better using a smaller amount of powder and GAC on the scales. Then I do the interference. I always have done Interference last on my things. Even when painting the Harmony Kingdom PYO’s, where i only use opaque paint, i do interference after it is completely painted.
I use the interference in thin layers, and often overlap interference colors
It comes out with a pretty cool optical affect. ……I have no idea if how different or simaler the affect is to your method though.Doing on on a pyo that other people have painting prior colors and interference on should be fine. I can apply extra interference so that it does not cover up what they did, but adds an additional affect to it.
I hope that makes sense.

That’s right, there was! Who started that traveller? I seem to remember it being Phoenix, but I’m not sure.
October 1, 2009 at 2:25 pm #784569The traveling dragon was organized by scorpiolady21, but the dragon started with Romeodanny. Below is the “final” order he was supposed to go in. He never was updated after scorpiolady21 had him so I don’t think it ever got shipped back out after she got him. That was also the last time she was seen on the forum.
scorpiolady21 wrote:Ok here we go…. SO far the little guy will go in this order:
1: Romeodanny – Canada
2: Dragonmedely – Canada
3: Jasmine – Canada
4: Kyrin – Idaho USA
5: Scorpiolady21 – California
6: Wolflodge – California
7: Kujacker – Arizona
8: purplecat -Kentucky
9: Tintaglia – Florida
10: Greater basilisk – Switzerland
11: Koishiikitty – CaliforniaThere was also talk in the thread about the first travelling Kirin (Graffiti?) that got lost on his way to see you GB.
October 2, 2009 at 3:17 am #784570I always do interference at the end too. I didn’t know you could do it while you were painting. I always just figured the paint would *cover up or paint over* the interference. 😕
Anyway, I have lotsa feathers to do! I’m excited 🙂
