I love the way you have your items displayed in the pics with the nature and animal props! I am currently unemployed myself, but as soon as I am able to afford it I will definitely be ordering some of your luscious soaps!

I placed a little order, I hope it helps to start a long, successful endeavor for you! <3 I'm a stay-at-home mama too and my hubby was laid off for most of 2010, so I know how you guys are feeling right now. We're here for you. <3

I LOVE the label design! I've been searching for years for a strong almondy scented lotion, so I ordered some Marzipan. It might be just what I've been looking for!

Are you planning to do some seasonal scents? I noticed in one of the pictures there was a jar with a label that said "Carnival Cor???", I'm intrigued! What is it??

HAHA.~! Sometimes I do ‘Limited Edition’ scents, or just little experimental short term availablities that are just for fun. They dont have the ‘customer appeal’ to really gather up enough followers to keep long term, but are something to keep my store ‘fresh’ with new things to see and try…while still having certain, “core scents” that I plan to have available long term.

“Carnival Corn” was one of these. It was a blend of fresh popped buttered popcorn, cinnamon crusted pecans, and coffee cake smell. It made me horribly hungry every time I wore it, and was a total reminisce of the county fairs I remember as a kid.

It only had a couple folks willing to try it, but the people who did purchase really enjoyed it…even if it did make everyone in the vicinity hungry!

Limited Edition scents like that I typically do in VERY small batches.

Speaking of delicious scents, you should try an Orange-Chocolate 🙂 I love those little chocolate oranges you smash and eat-but they’re hard to find around here.

Also, a lady I work with said just today she has the same condition your daughter has. I perked up and told her about your etsy site, and showed her how to find you on there. I happened to have a little pot of Fire Topaz sitting on my desk, so I let her try it. I hope she orders some from you. 🙂 She thought your prices were reasonable too.

Carnival Corn sounds delicious! You’ll have to let us know if you put some limited edition scents in your etsy store. I’m a big fan of uncommon scents! 🙂

I just went and double checked…I still have Carnival Corn in the samplers. I’ve sold all the larger containers. 🙂

Moonlight Mojito…is one I’m not sure how long I’ll keep around. It’s really a fun scent, but will probably be ‘summertime only’ or until I run out of stock.

Honey Amber is another scent that will probably be ‘short term’…possibly brought back now and again, or small batches made for customers who’ve enjoyed it in the past.

I keep all recipes and records of every scent I’ve put together, so that if a customer truly desires it, I can always make more.

I can also take orders for retired scents, if someone is willing to buy a ‘batch’s worth of that scent. A batch of full size butters is two containers, a batch of samplers is six. Solid perfumes are done in batches of three. A batch of soap is five bars.

Spray perfumes take too long to cure and will probably never be available on request.

Haha! I totally don’t mind, but just wanted to make sure the image wasn’t being distributed someplace it should be (wherever she got it from). Sometimes I’ll see someone using my art and when I ask where they got it they tell me about an icon sharing site or even a place where you can buy such things *facepalm*. Not the person’s fault at all but whoever ganked the art in the first place with the intention to redistribute…

would you ever consider doing your scents as candles? or is that a totally different process? (i’m clueless about this stuff)

I could…with the additional supplies I’d need…make candles, but I seriously doubt I ever would.

We live right down the street from a candle factory, and it’d cost me more to make candles than it would for me to go down the street and purchase a load of their ‘seconds’….Which are huge 16 oz jar candles complete with the lid, for only $1.50 apiece. They sell for around $12-$14 apiece in stores.

One of my basic rules for business is never to produce something I wouldnt use myself. Not only would it be impossible for me to compete with the candle factory here locally, but I doubt I’d have any use for additional candles, when I have TONS of them around already.

Hmm. Really? I might have to get a big container, then. I like it.

It is a really nice scent! I’m just wanting to experiment more with amber blends, and dont want a flood of amber based blends all in the store at the same time. The Honey Amber soap is particularly nice.

I was considering trying out an amber-rose blend, or perhaps a chocolate or vanilla amber blend. Neroli, an interesting type of orange blossom, is another scent I’ve considered blending with amber.

I keep oogling your shop. I will get some body butter (I really like the idea that they are not greasy) eventually when funds free up but I have a problem…. I can’t decide on scents! :p

                                Was wondering…
Have you ever considered doing Bath Salts or Body Mist? I’m not a huge perfume fan (to overpowering) but use body mists. I also love a long hot bath with scented bath salts after a long day at work or whenever. I find that the bath salts available here smell great but tend to leave a ‘plasticy’ smell/taste after a sniff. :~
