“Back off or I’m going to stab you!” Very nice work.
January 26, 2019 at 3:11 pm #1553141Mika, you really have a great hand when it comes to color theory. I love the soft look of the ‘grumpicorn’ Solstice, and the rainbow kirin is to die for. Well done!
January 26, 2019 at 5:03 pm #1553149Thank you Landipan! Mixing those colors with a white/pearly base makes things look so… cute? Happy? You know what I mean?
I totally get it, I always see a purples/pinks/blue combo as dreamy or happy colors!

February 21, 2019 at 7:52 pm #1558219Started on a new one over the weekend.
Currently the fur part is done and the flat scales on the arms and legs are partly done (those were painted after the photo was taken).
It looks really messy right now but the body is going to be painted over in black, so this is one of the few times I can safely paint outside the lines.
February 21, 2019 at 8:42 pm #1558221The details look beautiful so far. Excited to see how it turns out!

February 22, 2019 at 3:13 am #1558237The fur looks so cool, can’t wait to see the rest of the body done!

HugsMarch 27, 2019 at 1:52 pm #1562278Finally done with this guy!
This is Ruby Royalty! The upper part of his body has irregular flake gold glitter on it and the spine scales have a layer of temperature-based color change paint on them. I had originally planned on giving him a nice garnet orb to hold, but it ended up being too big for his mouth so I went with red chalcedony instead.
Most of the body is coated with high-gloss varnish; I put medium-gloss varnish on the fur, belly scales, and nose since it felt more appropriate for them . There is gold paint on the tail but the red overpowers it in the photos.
I’m really, really happy with how this one came out; give or take for some very minor details and the orb it’s almost exactly how I originally planned it to look.
