Yah, like OMG… totally. 😆
August 7, 2009 at 11:14 pm #772737I’m… still on the base coat! Ah! But my problem is painting two deadline pieces… one for a friends birthday and the swap. The birthday is just sooner! I’ll get it done lol
August 8, 2009 at 12:46 am #772738yeah, I can grip a paintbrush properly again! Much, much better! 😆
I swear I was going to go nuts if I couldn’t paint this weekend…
August 8, 2009 at 1:02 am #772739I finally get to work on mine tomorrow. The weather has dried out and cooled a bit with no humidity, so I can spray sealant. I would have started in the last two days, but I was a bit tired and catching up from my trip. I was gone hideously early Thursday until Monday evening and had over 3500 emails from work to go through. I only had 60 emails in my personal email account, and half were forum thread notifications for another forum or PMs from here and that forum. Too bad I was feeling nausious yesterday and this morning to start (stupid sinuses… hotels never clean out their Air vents). Could have gotten something done by calling in sick yesterday besides feeling like crap (hate sitting still when I have stuff to do, even when I’m sick). Can’t wait to start! 🙂
August 8, 2009 at 10:52 pm #772740Well, I’m done–painting any way. Just got the last clear coat on mine and need to let it dry and start gluing the eyes in and the crystals when they get here. WOW 😮 didn’t think I’d finish this soon. It looks all right and I hope my swapee likes it as well. So my first swap and it is somewhat a success! I was so worried—painting for someone is stressful because I’m not that good and I want to do a good job. But I’m glad that’s over and hope that I get better over time. 😀
August 9, 2009 at 5:45 pm #772741Whew. One side more or less done. I just have to keep my mother from falling in love with it.
On to the other side, which will hopefully go faster now that I’ve got it figured out.
August 11, 2009 at 1:50 am #772742I’m done… I’ve started the clear coat. Probably shouldn’t since it’s muggy, but I don’t think it’ll affect a brush on clear coat. I’ll find out tomorrow. I like it alot, I hope the person it’s going to will like it as much as I do.
August 11, 2009 at 5:42 am #772743The only PYOs left are wolves – good thing I was planning on doing one anyway. I don’t suppose we know when the other types will be restocked?

If you want something other than a wolf (you know, in case you change your mind), put out a call for the sculpt you need. Some people have extras.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I host the feedback lists, which are maintained by drag0nfeathers.

August 11, 2009 at 8:38 pm #772746Okay, I started again after my hiatus…but then Chloe woke up from her nap! Arrrggghh! I will have to start again tonight. 😈
August 17, 2009 at 10:52 pm #772747I finally got to start this weekend. The weather has been so rainy and humid. I liked the cool temperatures, but the rain has been horrible for getting anything done involving sealant and has been horrible for crops and gardens (too much moisture that fungi and molds have been cropping up easily, including blight – like what caused the potato famine, but it affects tomatoes too, which I grow). It’s hot and humid now (we finally broke 90 degrees F for the first time this summer!) and have problems with mold and blight on crops, but luckily, with it being so hot and sunny, I’ve been able to work around the humidity to spray sealant (doesn’t work if it is oppressively humid but it has been doable all weekend). Been working on the piece, setting it out in the sun to warm the sculpture up for a good 10-15 minutes, then spraying a layer of sealant. Let sealant dry, add next layer. Working with a matter finish, so it has been working so far (took the suggestion from my dad after a trick that can be used for working spraying paint on cars). Thankfully, this means I’m almost done. Should be done in about 2 days. I *think* my swappee will like him when he’s done (if not, I wouldn’t mind keeping him *cough*). 🙂

I am quite sure that they will like it! I just added your Cheetah Griffin #2 to my army. I got lucky and got him from Frozen! I love him! 😀

I had a sneaking suspicion you snagged him. 😉 Actually, Frozen had #3 (it clutches a piece of tiger’s eye). Cheetah Griffin #2 should be in its box upstairs and clutches a piece of amber (it was meant for a pyo trade with DragonsCavern, that didn’t happen), so he happily roosts with me until someday when I get a bite for him, since I never had any bites for him. He is a nice comparison between my first Cheetah griff, which was my first pyo, and a prototype at that, and the newer sculpt, though I could always paint another cheetah for myself if someone ever wanted him (cash or trade). Cheetah #1 clutches a green tourmaline cabochon. I’m glad he found a lovely new home with so many other griffins to play with. 🙂
Blech… it’s almost too bloody hot to work outside on my swap piece! I’ll have to work on him inside today and just take him outside for spraying. Twenty minutes outside yesterday pretty much did me in yesterday! At least the tomatoes are liking the sun and heat. I just want my swap piece complete and the temperatures to cool off for next weekend, so I don’t get heat stroke at the county fair!
August 20, 2009 at 6:15 am #772750My wolf came in, so I’m going to get started on him this weekend.
