July 29, 2009 at 11:25 pm #772692Geez you guys. I’m possibly a quarter of the way done with mine. I wish I had the kind of time to sit down and just blaze through like that (not to mention the spinal fortitude to sit hunched over it…)
July 30, 2009 at 1:08 am #772693I guess I might be about halfway done. =D It’s hard not showing anyone, though. o.o; I like input. Well, I did show *one* person…who isn’t participating in the swap. >.>…
July 30, 2009 at 1:25 am #772694‘kay, I received my blank today!

I kick back in my computer chair, and I end up painting it in my lap. 😆
July 30, 2009 at 2:42 am #772696I had to move back in with the ‘rents for a little minute, and I currently don’t have any real desk space to set up with my laptop nearby and my paints and brushes comfortably anymore. My desk is in the garage, gathering spiders. So I sit at the bar counter in the kitchen, and the stools are just a hair too high for comfortable painting.
I’d sit at the kitchen table, but like most horizontal surfaces at waist height in a busy household, it’s gathered plenty of clutter. 😉

Ya I work 10 hour shifts with about an hour of actual work…thus I have lots of free time!

Yeah…I do the same thing! LOL! Only this time, I have Drag0n to bounce ideas off of too! 😀 (Otherwiuse, Starbreeze gets a pic or two asking if she thinks it’s coming along nicely! But then again, I have Bodine too this time! 😳 )
It’s not so much the free time, as I don’t have much past work and the animals, but when I do, look out I am a fiend for it! 😉 It relaxes me, which is why I don’t sell alot of works, I just swap them out. 😀
July 30, 2009 at 3:16 pm #772699I worked two whole days off and I still don’t even look like I’m 10% done 😮

I bought a laptop desk from Ikea, and I have it sandwiched between the couch and the coffee table, my monitor for my desktop is on the coffee table, and I have my inspiration pics up while I paint! Colin and my other roommie keep telling me it looks like I brought my cubicle home. I keep telling them that I don’t paint in my cubicle! 😆
July 31, 2009 at 12:09 am #772701I think I just need to antique mine and I’m good to go. Though I’m trying to decide between two that I’ve done and I’m not sure which one my swap partner will like better…
July 31, 2009 at 12:39 pm #772702::Jealous of people who are done or close to done:: Mine is a disaster so far. It started off so well. Base coats done and looking good. Except for a few spots where I accidentally rubbed some paint off. When I tried to paint over the base coat…. the base coat started coming off. So, I now have a very blotchy looking paint job. 🙄 🙄
I will get it done and hopefully it won’t look horrible afterward.

I know what you mean! This is my first time in this swap and so far, things are looking so-so. Not the best paint job but I could do worse. On the final seal I have Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish and I tell you it really pops those colors right out! Did a MUSE and it was all right but after putting on this medium, it look so much better! Also with the final coat, I mix some Pearl Ex powder in it and it gives it that irridecent glow. I find it’s the best cover up for a mericore paint job! 😀
August 1, 2009 at 8:08 pm #772704Well, spent hours painting layers and layers of paint. There is only one little tiny spot that looks like it doesn’t belong. (I’m trying to figure out some way to work it into the paint job since I can’t seem to make it look right) So far none of the paint is peeling off again. I’m past the worst part. Now just to finish. I just hope that when I do the top coat it won’t take the paint off again.
It’s nowhere near what I was trying to get and it doesn’t really fit what the person wants but, I am starting to love it. It’s beautiful up close. I’ll have to remember how to get that effect so I can do it again. (I just really hope that the person likes it as well.)
August 2, 2009 at 4:16 am #772705I… don’t even have a full base coat on mine yet :X
