        Hey guys-

Please keep my little man in your prayers. We’ve spend two very expensive weeks at the vet, but he seems to be failing health wise. He just won’t eat no matter what I offer him. The tests show he has an infection, but we can’t seem to find it, and it isn’t responding to antibiotics. πŸ™

Oh no… can the vets not figure out what the problem is??? I’m so sorry to hear your furbaby isn’t doing well. It seems to be a bad year already for a lot of us with pets πŸ™

                          Update-

We put Koda on steroids to stimulate his appetite. And so far he has responded and has started to eat. Not as much as usual but since he went 2 weeks and consumed an entire 1/4 of a can of dog food, this is improvement.

The problem with the tests is they all keep coming back within the normal range except for a slightly lower white cell count. It’s slightly lower but not enough out of the normal range to indicate anything. His UA has bacteria and small traces of blood, but again not to enough to locate any specific thing except an infection somewhere in the dog. We’ve run a bunch of other tests testing kidney, liver etc function-all w.in the normal range. We even looked at some of atypical diseases and those tests all came back negative.

Pretty much the only thing we haven’t done is an ultrasound. But realistically anything we find via ultrasound is not going to be treatable. My new vet (since my old one moved πŸ˜₯ but has been consulting on this) is worried it might be bone cancer. πŸ™ πŸ™

Our best hope is he forgot how good it was to eat and this will stimulate his appetite and he will recover…He is feeling better and more like himself, but I am worried that the steroids are the reason he’s feeling better…not that we’ve found/solved the problem. So for right now we’re just sitting tight and crossing our fingers.
