      The Little Rock Dragons are flying out of the store, even at $800 each. Maybe this is drawing some money away from ebay sales?

      Or….the same crazy little rock lady has been buying them…. 😉

      I read this at work and I bursted out laughing at my desk!

        Technically I think we all qualify as crazy rock ladies (and gentlemen). LOL!

        I see at least two factors at work, maybe a couple more. One is color scheme–some schemes have wider appeal than others, so getting a bidding war going is easier and raises the prices. Two is the holidays/economy–I don’t know about all of you, but post Christmas, I *really* shouldn’t be spending on Windstones (Not that it’s stopping me, but…)

        Others might be:
        * Melody’s signature versus anyone else’s. Hers is just plain worth more to some people.
        * Grab bag insanity. Honestly, I love them all, I want them all–but $350 for a baby uni? I can’t stomach that personally…I have Ebay pieces & very limited LPs that are worth that. But that’s just me; it’s a matter of supply & demand–people are paying what something is worth to them, and apparently the right GB uni is worth that kind of money to enough people that the most coveted colors/patterns are selling for those prices. (The first batch unis and poads though generally seem to go for more reasonable prices.) It’s not hard to see though that unless you’re made of money, buying up lots of GBs means spending less on ebay pieces.

        There was a point last summer where it seemed like a number of ebay pieces went for very low amounts, and at that point, I suspected it was mostly the color schemes involved, because the comments on them here weren’t as favorable. Things seemed to pick up again within a few weeks as new color combos were released. Small sample size and all that, but it did seem like a possible factor.

          And Malachite Moss was gorgeous…..and sold for LESS than store price!!! I am so sorry I missed the end on that one. Congratulations to the winner (I hope it’s a forum member 🙂 )!

            The wing work on that little rock is REALLY nice–but you all are safe from me! 🙂 I think I’ve reached my little rock quota…..for now…..LOL.

              I would like to see this color scheme on some other dragons. I am not particularly fond of the emperors (this probably is heresy or something) but I also think the Malachite Moss is very pretty.

                I don’t know why, but I didn’t like that silver accent on the sides, that killed it for me. Still a great buy though!

                  Random thought – These days the emphasis seems to be on finding bargains (coupons, internet shopping, discounts …) and we have been fretting about buying Windstones too cheaply! I suppose it is another compliment for the company. 🙂

                          Maybe quagga will come up as a colouration again? XD I really, really like the Sky Bronze colouration, I think it’s becoming one of my favourites!

                                  I was gonna bid, but there was this really weird gold lipstick looking marking on her mouth… made me think of girls making that dumb fish face I see on facebook constantly! LOL!
