I’ve finished mine and am just putting the final coat on it. I like what I did and hope my swapee does as well. I feel that these swaps help those of use who are so-so painters get some practice in. I enjoy seeing what people get and am curious to see what my swap partner painted for me. Swap pieces are a part of the person who painted them–unique and special.

I think that’s a big appeal of the swaps. Seeing a large number of new pieces and the diverse number of ideas that show up all at once. It’s very exciting and I can hardly wait to see who painted for me and what they painted. I agree it’s also a good way to get more practice at painting.
It’s also a good way to get your work seen since the PYO gallery has been restructured. Even though the new PYO gallery is very easy to navigate it’s a little difficult to figure out what the newest additions are now.
On a side note, I’ve double boxed my piece up so it’s ready to ship! Just have to wait until November now! Oh and I took pictures of it before I boxed it up…so no worries there. Besides, it’s safer for me to box now…I have cats that have chewed on my PYO pieces in the past! T_T

My first time doing one like this and I am ubber worried they will dislike it. Nervous!! I worked killer hard to get it right and have tried to take photos but I cannot get a pic to show the detailing right. Camera color off, to bright of light, to dark, wrong background!!!! This is the first one I have fretted over so much….. Cross my fingers my swap person sees that I tried to give what they asked even if I may have fallen a little short. Feelin a little apprehensive about this one
October 25, 2013 at 2:53 pm #904592I finally get to start mine this weekend. I’ve known what I’ve wanted to do since I got my swapee’s request/preferences and I’ve been itching to start, but I needed to get caught up on a few things first. I should have it done (or down to finishing touches) by next weekend.
October 25, 2013 at 5:00 pm #904595I’m in the same boat as Siberakh! I’m raring to start but alas I gotta wait a few more days until other stuff is out of the way. D:

You guys are in good company!
I’ve only had two painting sessions so far and hope to get another in maybe this Sunday for a couple of hours, then my next available time would be next weekend. Then again on Nov. 15 I’ll have another big chunk of time to have at least a 1/2 day paint party. I hope to finish then!Good luck to you! 🙂

Always open for pyo commissions, repairs and fine artwork! Email me for current prices! awier(@)weaselsoneasels.comOctober 30, 2013 at 5:47 pm #904774Since it’s tough for me to do painting during the week or evenings, I’m doing painting sessions on weekends – mostly on Sundays. I’d say I’m about 2/3 done with my detail painting, and it’s coming along nicely! Once done with my details, hopefully by 11/3 or so, then I need to clear coat, antique, and do the final clear coat, etc to finish.
I’ll probably get the lion-share done by 11/15, then just have the final clear coat and eyes, etc. done between 11/17 – 11/19 depending upon drying time. I believe I’m on track to ship by the 11/22 date.
I’ve been photographing my piece in stages as I paint, and my co-workers and Mom are really excited about seeing how the PYO is progressing. It’s been really fun so far!
