😕 Weird. When I saw this topic, I wasn’t signed in, and there were 2 votes for OG. I signed in and voted OG, and there are still 2. Or am I misreading it *very possible for me*?
Hey, just thought of something. There are 45 votes so far. If there are 61 SKs (I’m throwing the already painted rainbow one into the batch, might as well sell her than move her), there are enough for everyone who votes to have 1st dibs at the color they wanted plus some extras! Nice to dream anyhow. 😆
(I’d like lots of OGs just to be sure to get one. I couldn’t give a hoot about the rarity if it helped!)I have a better idea for the rainbow secret keeper…

That’d be really cool Pip, if we could each get the color we’re wanting. I know Melody said she didn’t want anyone feeling obligated to buy something, but even if it came out ugly as sin (is that even possible for an SK? 😆 ) I’d still love to have a ruby SK in my collection.

*nods* I agree with you an Pip. No matter what Melody says, I would do a pre-order in a heartbeat. I don’t think any of us would be disappointed. On the other hand, it’s better for them financially to auction them off. If they can’t stay afloat, we won’t get anything at all.
Has Windstone ever done pre-orders before?
Melody did also mention that they don’t do customs/special orders. So everyone might not get the color that they specifically want. I do think 2 or 3 batches in different colors would be nice though. There would be enough variety to please everyone that way. Or is that what you guys meant? Melody could say that there is this and that color to choose from on the SK, and we could all let them know which one we want… that way they know how many to make of each color.
I vote for something blue too! I would like for the SK to be unigue and different from the other production colors. 😀 😀

Which one of us gets the Rainbow??Windstone will not have a blow out sale or any other sort of clearance- that’d be silly and harmful to their business. They’re moving, not going out of business. It might cost them to move the stuff they have, but in the long run it’s cheaper than devaluing the Windstone line and undercutting the retailers!! The closest thing is the sale of all the test paints on eBay Melody wants to be rid of before they move, if she can. (I know, I know… we can dream!)
Secret Keepers in the store is still in the hypothetical stage. If it happens we won’t know the price till they day they are listed! 😉

Yes, kinda… not a pre-order per se, but a list Susie keeps and emails folks when something becomes available. Those lists sometimes help them determine how many of a limited item to make.
But Windstone will not take ‘commissions’, or ‘Paint to order’ where you pay for an item that doesn’t exist and then they paint it after you pay. This can lead to way more problems than it’s worth. 🙂

I NEVER said I did not like pink. On some dragons it just does not seem to fit like a pink Emperor or Male. I was tired of having it asked for all the time. I don’t think rainbow should exist on an old warrior, yet we will probably be making those ugly things at some point, along with pink emperors, pink secret keepers, pink old warriors, rainbow lap dragons, and probably a huge swath of colors yet to be.
This is not said with the intention to be mean, but as a company, we do have more people to please than just the Windstone Board, or any one person in particular. We do still do retail, not just OOAKs, or limited editions, after all. It’s business, pure and simple. Some colors you just won’t like, and as Melody said, you can either like them or buy them, or not. Someone else will most assuredly be quite happy with a color that someone else dislikes. That is why we have so many different color lines, after all.
