This time I went for the priority shipping, and seen that it entered customs and cleared customs in 8 mins…. I wonder if that means I wont get hit by customs this time ! *crosses fingers* . I have never seen it pass through that fast before, and if I dont get charged it will be a first time for me! If thats the case, and if the reason is because I paid more for priority shipping, then I may pay for that more often. So just wondering if your using first class mail, do you ever get away without paying customs?
I’ve never yet been dinged for customs on a windstone and I always choose the cheapest shipping. I kind of think part of it is luck. Dunno. I was charged shipping on a ring that I ordered and a hoodie, but never on a windstone. Yet, anyway. 🙂 (Hopefully it never comes to ‘yet.’)
I think you pay customs when the value is over a certain amount. But that may not be true… so far, if a Windstone’s box fits in the mailbox, I don’t pay customs. If it doesn’t and the value is over 150-200$ dollars (and that’s a HUGE guess), I expect to pay customs. But depending on which foot the custom’s officer got up (’cause I don’t want to say something cruder), I might not have to pay!
I gave up trying to figure it out…

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmOctober 5, 2014 at 11:49 pm #920192I have been told they don’t pay customs in the U.S. if something comes from Canada if that’s correct? I do mark my boxes as gifts but I put the full value on them for insurance when I send them to the U.S. and I usually use tracked packet for smaller items. When I get things in the postal workers here just always leave the boxes in front of my door if I am not home. Out of all the grab bags I have gotten I have never been charged on the small boxes even if they are marked like $300 so maybe that’s just luck. I do like to combine shipping myself though like getting 2-4 pieces together in the same box and the last couple I got like that I still wasn’t charged customs so it is probably better to combine pieces if you can unless you think the value will be marked too high. I really think it is just luck of the draw though with customs. Maybe the next several boxes you won’t get charged anything hopefully!
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
October 6, 2014 at 1:00 am #920198My two foxes at last! One is reddish-tan and black, maybe a cross fox or variation, with cute little pinky tan toenails instead of black. I am guessing that she is a female fox. 😉
The other fox is lovely shades of medium and light grey with a white front. “Grey Boy” will be traveling soon to a new home.
October 6, 2014 at 1:03 am #920199They’re both so lovely! Especially the lighter one.
I find I’m a bit iffy on the red fox sculpt myself as well, I think in the right color it I’d love it more. So far my favorites are the Arctic and Fennec, though I have a feeling that I will fall madly in love with the Bat eared(Big ears are ALWAYS a awesome) fox once I have one in hand!

October 6, 2014 at 5:59 am #920214If the red fox sculpt is anything like the wolf, I know I’m gonna love it. 😀 Also: really liking all the cross foxes that are showing up! Super pretty!

October 6, 2014 at 6:02 pm #920248Awww, your red fox is adorable Amstaff! I think that’s a Georgian White if I’m not mistaken colour wise. Love the panda patches over the eyes! 😀 (Also yay for no customs, eee! I think customs are random.) Still waiting for mine – it has ‘left originating country’ but that was four days ago – poo!

October 6, 2014 at 10:07 pm #920254I like the thin pads on these Red foxes and the Arctic foxes. They are not obtrusive at all (in my opinion).

Thanks Falcolf! And I thought it was a Georgian White as well, until I did some more research. I now think it is a Platina-Marble Fox, you can see more details here : http://livingwithfoxes.weebly.com/colour-morphs.html …. some of the color variants are very similar though, so it is hard to be 100% sure (unless Melody could say, yup, thats the one I painted, lol !)
One side-note- I do love these fox sculpts, and the colors are all amazing. The one thing I do NOT like though, is the fact that the majority of these colors came about due to the ranching of foxes- being bred and raised for the fur trade. I dont think that these are naturally occurring color mutations. Anywho….. thats another topic and I wont go on, as I dont want to cause this thread to go off-topic any further, lol ! 🙂
