Love the dark ones! Congrats on those that got them, just gorgeous!
February 10, 2015 at 9:13 pm #925484Except you choose to quote only part of my post. The truth is, that many members request grab bag preview photos whenever Melody mentions she is working on a new batch. I’m not sure if I have personally requested some myself (maybe, maybe not, been a lot of batches), but I see them posted all the time. But you are right, no way to truly know majority. Not even a poll would help as that would exclude a huge buying population who don’t peruse the forums. But enough would miss them, when all it takes is others ignoring them. Just like if you are excited for a new movie coming out and want to go in without any spoilers. You avoid its trailer; you don’t expect trailers to be banished.
As for “upsetting or belittling”, not my intent, however, one thing I know that will come with grab bags: Drama. Like Death and Taxes.
Fair enough 🙂 I appreciate your clarification!

My wolf is gorgeous shades of browns with white face and I’m still trying to find an appropriate name for him. Thanks to Melody for creating such beautiful sculpts!

February 10, 2015 at 9:44 pm #925489February 10, 2015 at 10:46 pm #925496… in the past when there were extras, they were either put back in the store or sold to people who missed the batch. I know because in the past when a couple friends and I had just missed a batch of grab bags, Susie was nice enough to email us and tell us she had a leftover one for us because we had asked. …
For some reason I find the idea that people were able to buy through Susie after the “Notify” button went up very disturbing. I know that Susie is great and does her best to make Windstone customers happy, but I would rather see a policy that any leftovers go to ebay or back into the store if there are enough … not be sold behind the scenes.
Grab Bags are a gamble by definition and I think it should be “Sorry … if you missed them in the store, you missed them”.
In an effort to clarify: When a Grab Bag has sold out, I don’t sell extra Grab Bag items to anyone who emails me and says they want one, which is why a number of people have been disappointed because I did not do that. There have been times when I had a good reason to sell a “leftover” to someone (usually because the store was malfunctioning and I saw that they had begun to order and were not able to). When we get to the end of a Grab Bag and I find 3 left over, I cannot restock them into the store when 150 people have pressed the “notify” button (147 people would be mad if I put 3 pieces in the store!), so they go onto ebay. Sometimes stragglers that were not in the class photo are added to the batch before we sell out – which means that a “leftover” that we sell on ebay later, may have been in the class photo.

Thanks, Susie. I’m sure this will clarify for those who were confused or misinterpreted.
