*slaps self in head* You mean you used a red Malamute for the wolf of Star’s?!! π― Ugh…I guess I didn’t realize. π If you like I can pick another dog breed GB. π
Edit: I guess the markings are going to be totally different from yours…Your’s looks more Husky-ish. (Ist aht even a word? π )
June 24, 2008 at 7:34 am #639753Oh, go ahead and use it, WSC. Everybody has their own painting style. I don’t mind one bit.
I’m not sure what the dog I used was. I’ve got the photo saved on my laptop at home. I think it was a husky, though, so no worries. πJune 24, 2008 at 5:48 pm #639754I’m *very* interested in seeing how you accomplish the ticking effect; this has been bugging me for weeks on my griffin……..nothing seems to work. grrrrrrrrrr πΏ
June 24, 2008 at 6:39 pm #639755I won’t be doing it on a Griffin….I am not sure how I would do ticking on one anyway…Unless you are just talking about the cat body… π LOL The wolves are a bit easier since they have the nice swirls of hair on the haunches and around the throat/chest area. I haven’t had time to sit and get to the cream layer, but after that comes the red tones. π I am excited to see how this wolf comes out myself, I’ve only done Maxx who was a half n half breed of dog. And black and tan is a bit different. π
Hawk is on his way to Serenity now, and I’m wound up about the arrival of my White tiger from her! *fidgets* π

He is for Serenity.
I did try to antique this one a bit, but I didn’t like it so well, and the belly of the lion part has some spots where it really stuck. π‘ I left it alone though since I was more worried about trying to fix something so petty when I would probably just mess it up and have to start all over. π It gives him a spot of character. π
Here are his pics, and once he dries out all the way (Probably tomorrow. I will bag him up and box him and ship him off! π )
You can see the spots in that one. π
Hope you like him Serenity!!! π (Note the lion butt? π π π π )
Estimated time to completion: 32.75 hours
(Now onto a wolf and a yellow butterfly dragon…I should be able to get ahead since they are playing the waiting game for their PYO’s. π π *phew*)HE IS FREAKIN BEAUTIFUL IN PERSON!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! π π π π π π

June 29, 2008 at 5:47 pm #639758Ok, I have the base coats on the 4 sculpts I am currently working on. I just unearthed the Powder pigment Griffin. He was buried behind everything else I have worked on recently.
The yellow dragon is the Swallowtail butterfly dragon I am prepping for GB’s swap.
The powder pigment Griffin has a small chip over his left eye. I am not sure what will become of him when he is done. I have never before him used powder pigments, so I don’t know how he will turn out in the end.
I didn’t include a pic of the hawk wolf I am also working on or the flame Griff I am working on. Both have nothing but a basecoat…White on the wolf makes for an uniteresting pic of the first session, and black on the griff isn’t too interesting either.Yellow swallowtail prep/basecoat…
Powder pigment griff…
June 29, 2008 at 5:49 pm #639759I love that griff! π And the yellow on the dragon is so happy and vibrant.

June 29, 2008 at 7:12 pm #639761Those are beautiful, WindstoneCollector! I was mesmerized by the dragon for about 20 seconds. π
June 29, 2008 at 7:23 pm #639762I love that griff, if he’s chipped I will gladly take him off your hands….. π
What, hope springs eternal, right?

*melts into a warm pile of fuzziness* π
June 30, 2008 at 6:23 am #639765That dragon is going to look awesome. I jsut feel bad because I can’t start work on your griff. π
June 30, 2008 at 2:27 pm #639766Don’t worry GB. It doesn’t bother me to have it done early! π (Plus who is to say, I won’t hit a speed bump and have alot less time to paint? π― I hope not!)
Anyway, here is a 2nd session photo of the dragon…
I will be working on him again today, and perhaps get a bit done on the wolf…Tonight I might sit with powder pigment griff and see what I can do to him too. Those powders are a crazy thing let me tell you! I am so not used to working with them! π― π -
