May 19, 2008 at 4:07 am #639666Jewel is gorgeous. I love that he’s got all sorts of color without looking gaudy.
May 19, 2008 at 11:30 am #639667He’s looking beautiful so far! I have to admit though….with the griffin pyo..the hardest part for me to figure out what to do with it was the rear end and hind legs. My mind would always go blank there. π π
May 19, 2008 at 1:38 pm #639668Okay, so you just got a double “WHOA!” from my twinners! They are highly impressed (me too)! Stunning work!

May 19, 2008 at 2:33 pm #639669Thank you! π I know what I am gonna do with his hindquarters, I am jsut trying something new and waiting until I am done with the hawk part. I have a bad habit of picking them up by the haunches and having the paint rub off, so this time I am gonna see if I can manage to keep from doing that. Tonight I will be starting his hindquaters, if I get out of work at a decent time. π π

Thanks! For 12 year old boys, Sean and Ethan are pretty cool kids, if I do say so myownself π I think it’s something they brought to the planet with them — my hubby says they have ‘old souls’…. and they seriously like Jewel!

May 19, 2008 at 3:24 pm #639671That is one of the nicest set of wings for a griffin I have seen to date. The face and claw are really cool to. It helps its done in purples, greens and blues – I always loved that color combo π .

Thank you very much! π Yeah, I love those colors! I was given a goodish list of colors to work from though so it helped. Turquoise, emerald, small amounts of maroon/burgundy, pale goldens/yellows, blue-teal, and blue-purple. I had to have something to tie the eyes into the scheme, so I went with a falcon-type beak and feet combo, which really makes it all pop. π
June 2, 2008 at 1:59 pm #639673Here is my newest work in progress. I am working on my swap for Serenity. She said she wanted a hawk…Well here he is so far. He has alot of work to go, but witha little help from watching other’s videos on how to paint, I think I am making headway. I spent about 10 hours sitting and staring at hawk pics and the sculpt trying to figure out where to start. π But, after I got underway, it just came pouring out. So, thank you those of you have the videos out there. π
Does he look hawk-ish? LOL I think he does, but I’m sorta worried still. π³
