Cute little Melon! He has such a wonderful combination of colors. Although now you’ve got me drooling–he reminds me of those yummy melon hard candies that they have at Mitsuwa. Same shade of green, and SO tasty! :p

Here is the latest new paint job i’ve done and the last until may! I leave this coming up wednesday for england. Anyways this is the spring jewels! Took me long enough to figure this one out. This particular one is definitely my favorite and as with any of the other jewels that i have painted if i do more with the spring theme none will look the same.

Has anyone else used golden iridescent bright gold? It’s the color i used on the edging on the side scales. This paint is amazing! at certain angles it disappears and then at other angles it looks like a solid color! I wasn’t sure about it when i ordered it because you can never be certain of a paints consistency until you’ve used it. After using this i’ll definitely recommend it.

Wow grayfire, he’s positively glowing!! I think photographing him with the white background was definitely the right choice, it really brings out the brightness. I LOVE the colors you used on the wings – they blend together so nicely, he reminds me of a summertime beverage or a watermellon or something crisp and fresh 🙂

Oh and have fun in England!! That’s really exciting – I’ve never been but always wanted to go 🙂

HEY so i’m back home and have started painting :D. What am i working on now? A sweet heart keeper :D.

At the moment though there is a spring storm that rolled in :3 soooo i won’t be able to take any photos till it stops raining ♥.

Holy cow, I love it!! That pink is SO vibrant, and contrasts really well with that blue! I LOVE the blue antiquing on the nose – so pretty! I think my favorite part is the bubbly striping on the wings, those colors all look so great together 🙂

🙂 Welcome back! Sweetheart came out great! I agree with Hannah, the blue antiquing over the white really jumps out it looks great. You always do an excellent job with the bright colors.
