hey there all! if it wasn’t mentioned already elsewhere, i wanted to spread the word that grandio.com has increased their prices on some of the newly retired pieces!! the horror and panic!! for example, i went there tonight to order my rainbow fledgling, only to find they increased the price on him from 64 to 77 bucks!! the nerve! i believe they increased the price on the male peacock to 115 , on others too i’m sure. i didn’t check too closely to see everyone’s prices, as i am very tired tonight, but it is a sure sign of something ugly coming, especially close to xmas when wallets are tight!! we don’t need anymore drama!! so, in conclusion, run not walk to astral or bella and get who you need for your collection before they catch on, get greedy and spike prices too!! thats both for your own wallet and principle too! thanks and good luck, tfsculptures

While I certainly prefer buying things cheaper, I don’t find it ethically reprehensible to raise prices on pieces they now know may well be worth more.
November 21, 2006 at 4:57 am #510833price update….. ok here goes…..what sickos….male peacock 125…..male rainbow 132.25 young rainbow dragon 83.95!! peacock scratcher 166 , empress 77 ,lap 165.60 fledgling 77 ,mother peacock 115 what bastards! there you go, strain those brains and wallets!! sorry folks!
November 21, 2006 at 5:00 am #510834very true, i was actually expecting that to happen right away, like how astral posted they are retired, you think they would have increased then. just like you said, they are worth more now, so they’re thinking, “why not?”

I’m sorry. I don’t find it at all appropriate to call people who are trying to make money sickos and bastards. The point of my previous post was to say that I don’t think there’s anything wrong with what they’re doing. They’re in business to make money, so they can pay the bills.
I’m going to be selling a couple of retired peices in the next few weeks. I hope you won’t think it sick of me if I want more than the original list price for them.
November 21, 2006 at 5:10 am #510836Which ones are you selling, SPark? Any rainbows? I need to find a way to squeeze in some rainbows despite the fact that two EMERALD SPECTRALS just went up on E-Bay that I will win if I can help it.
November 21, 2006 at 5:11 am #510837Sorry, the only rainbow I have is my fledgeling, and I’d never sell him!
No, I’m going to be selling an emerald coiled mother, and a brown mother, and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe a brown male.
(Funny thing I noticed – the brown mother dragon I have has DARK blue eyes, like the rainbows do! They’re definitely darker than the eyes on the male.)

What do you want for this one? This is the one with the gold egg isn’t it?

Well, I already have the emerald coiled mother. But thanks for letting me know.
November 21, 2006 at 6:06 am #510840I wouldn’t pay Grandio’s prices, especially since Armik’s stayed normal. I agree that every seller can decide whatever price he wants to sell for, but I do think it’s rather stupid of Grandio to try to make the newly retired look as if they’re on sale by adding a much higher gray price on the left of the increased actual price. The Lap never sold for $190!

That is the one with the gold egg, yes. I haven’t fixed a price yet, I want to see if I can find out what they’ve sold for in the past.
Mine isn’t mint, but it’s “refurbished” which means I’ve resculpted the chipped bits and repainted it all.
November 21, 2006 at 7:29 am #510842I don’t like that they suddenly, IMMEDIATELY upped the prices either. Armiks will match the price of any Windstone that is being sold at a regular price. All you have to do is email them a link to the exact item, and they calculate in shipping (if aplicable) and if the competitor’s price is still lower, they will match it.
They also give you a 10% store credit that is useable 30 days after you make your purchase. I phoned them today 🙂 I was hoping to get a deal if I ordered like 5 pieces at once, but the guy basically told me no, but that if I wanted a price break, buy half now, and half in 30 days. Ah well.
And I want to say again that I love the folks at Magical Omaha 😀 And they have a Ruby Emperor at $300 if anyone is interested. Free shipping the rest of the year!

Every time i read free shipping, i get excited. Then it always is qualified by “free shipping in the US only” and a little part of me dies. I’m on the same continent, only a few miles from NY and so forth! Why can’t i get free shipping? *fake cries* 😥
November 21, 2006 at 7:41 am #510844How woeful.
I don’t think I’ve ever ordered from an online site. I’ve bought off ebay, and I’ve traded, and I’ve bought at the local place in the mall. (They have EVERYTHING in stock, and so shipping isn’t even an issue.)
