The rainforest reminds me of rainbow too much. Not a fan. I hope whoever gets her really IS a fan of the color.

Is the white/spotted looking sun dragon a repaint? Looks almost calico from this angle. Interesting.

Just finished. This was my fifth time. The past two weeks has been kinda crazy because the clinic puts you through massive hormone doses so your ovaries produce more mature eggs at one time. These hormones are crazy because at best you feel like mild PMS, at worse you’re…. completely crazy.

But the result is the recipient got nine eggs out of me. And thats nine attempts at in-vitro they can have to try for a baby.

This a little bit of whine, and mostly ‘heck yeah’. I’m been sleeping most of the day recovering from a sedation surgery. What surgery? Egg retrieval. I’m all sort of sore in my lower abdomen(thats the whine part), but someone else gets to have a baby they wouldnt have had because of me(that’s the ‘heck yeah!’). I’m a fifth time egg donor and I like that I’m able to help these women have babies they could not have had with their own eggs.

Edit: And someone has found me a Ruby Emp. Also ‘heck yeah!’

Just received the two silver hatchers I was missing from foxfeathers! An empress and a kinglet to go with the emperor I’ve had for a bit. This is my first completed hatcher set. Usually mine have been all mismatched.

I’m trying to do this coloration for my nieces dragon (she’s 4) problem is that right now it just looks like it came out of a Pepto-Bismal bath 😮

When I was 4, I would have loved a pink one even if it was pepto bismol colored… lol.

For those of you that airbrush your PYOs, what kind of airbrush do you use? What are the pros and cons of the type/brand of airbrush you use?

Aside from the missing eyes, I wouldnt have even known she was unfinished! I like the antiqued look she seems to have.

Wow, it confused me at first looking at my PM inbox and seeing ‘Hannah’…..and not remembering when I had ever PMed a ‘Hannah’. Then saw the icon, and realized.

If it’s something salvageable I usually avoid repaints, but I’m VERY ANAL and if I can’t get the paint to look like that factory, or at least not like an obvious repair then I’ll repaint it instead. I have a few I have done for myself actually, but there is NO WAY I could have gotten that whole tail to look like it was done at the factory. I would have been annoyed every time I looked at him if I could notice the obvious difference in the paint skill. Why repair him in the first place if it’s going to be completely obvious you know, at least as a repaint I sort of have my own one of a kind Windstone, even if it’s unofficial. 😀

It’s weird, fur is easy to repair. (well, at least easiER) Scales really suck and suck worse to try and paint match!

I would think that the old peacock color would be one of the harder ones to recreate anyway. Then again, I’m a huge fan of purple, so maybe I just want to see a big royal purple emp like he seems to be in the newer photos.

But that’s the way really good repairs are supposed to look, yes? To be able to display a piece and no one is the wiser that it was once utterly broken. I dont remember who on here did the male dragon complete facial reconstruction, but this emp tail is along the lines of that.

Waiting curiously to see his repaint. I actually like repaints, even though they seem to be frowned upon. It puts new life especially in ones that have been damaged like this.

I’m not really sure… they seem to be really similar, but I would say the gypsum is probably better. As far as rebreaking, I would just be afraid for it to break where the plaster “meets” the gypsum. Since they are two different materials and not glued, just sort of “set to dry” while attached I’m LOADING it with paint and I’ll probably put a rubber bottom on it or something for extra protection when it’s done.

I see. I’m just trying to see how much harder or easier it is than repairing resin dolls(which i used to do). I’ve never had anything damaged to this extent, but its good information to have. The plaster adheres to the gypsum while it’s drying then, and you paint in layers over top to hide the place where one material becomes the other. I can see what you mean about putting a rubber bottom on it too.

Is the plaster any sturdier than the gypsum from which it was originally cast? Less or more?

Simply, her bids will go higher to ensure she wins the pieces she wants. This isn’t Shilling, this is the way of Ebay. If someone thinks it’s worth more, then they’ll win it. If not, she’ll pay and get a nice piece for her collection.

This is exactly what I am saying. Thank you Phoenix.
