PM’ed you as well.
I was watching it out of curiosity as I collect the Peacock colour. I was shocked to see it go from $395 to $700 as well. I think the seller would be extremely lucky to sell for that much. I suspect that as it gets closer to deadline day the price will drop back to $395 with the thought being that some people might all of the sudden think they are getting a deal. What ever works I guess to sell your product.
Very interesting Melody. I alway’s kind of assumed the eggs were easier to do than the dragons. Your explanation makes perfect sense though and I can understand how hard they actually are to do now.
Looks like my mistake. I recieved the confirmation e-mail of being placed on the notification list which I took to mean the curls were in the store. So naturally I checked the store only to see, all sold out. Guess I should learn to read better. 🙂 Still though as to my original question I wouldn’t mind being able to prepay for an item if it would guarantee recieving one.
Well I should have known it wasn’t going to be easy to get one of the new amethyst curls. I missed out on the 1st batch so put my name in to be notified of the second batch and low and behold I promptly missed out on that batch as well. 🙄 So a question for Melody and forgive me if it’s been asked already somewhere but would it be possible to prepay for one? I expect, or at least hope there will be a third batch so in the hopes of avoiding further misfortune I wonder if I could prepay for one?
I’m no computer wiz but I’ve heard of people rolling their computer back (date wise) to a point where they think everything is okay and finding what they’re looking for. You can probably get some advice on that from someone here.

I think I’ll probably just have to go with the 20″ deep one when I can afford it. Here’s a link to it http://www.curiocabinet-store.com/p/pulaski-20994-chocolate-cherry-curio-cabinet I’ll be saving for a long time to get it but I like that its really open. My other one has too much wood blocking my veiw.
That is a beautiful curio cabinet. Coincidently I just bought it from Costco (Canada) and absolutely love it. I’m sure it is available through Costco (USA). By the way it was only half that price. Also I checked the Costco websites and don’t see it so it might have been just an in store special.
Pam Thompson wrote:It is just my personal opinion also, that who would even have the concern to make note of, or even pay attention to, how many times an individual item cycles through on eBay without selling? And if they did, who would really care? I browse eBay a lot for lots of things, and I see hundreds of BIN items ending all the time that I know will most likely not be bought, and will just be put up again when they end. And to me that’s normal, that’s just how eBay works. The fact that things are constantly relisted, to me, only means that good, even though I didn’t want to buy that now, at least when/if I do, one will probably be up there for me from such-n-such a buyer.
Funny I agree it’s just normal and one shouldn’t complain however it actually annoys me a little bit. I don’t mind when something is what I would consider to be at a reasonable price but just doesn’t garner any interest and it gets relisted for another go round with no reserve. The ones that annoy me are the ones that have a buy now and a reserve that starts high and gets no interest so they go around again and not just for 4 days or some other short time but for 29 days and you just know it’s not going to get bought again because the reserve is to high to get people into it so it’s most likely going to go around again. Often times the reserve or buy now will even go up to cover expenses. :negative:
February 4, 2009 at 8:01 pm in reply to: Will there be a Yearly Special Windstone Members Only Pieces #751000Hmm, sounds interesting. I believe this or something like it was being considered as part of the collectors club that was discussed in another thread.
I also have news. I’m not sure whether it is good news, bad news or just oh well. Paypal has emailed to say that the seller has agreed to refund the money. However that was a week ago and I haven’t recieved any notification that it has been deposited into my paypal account yet. I would have preferred the dragons I won but obviously the fact that it was a scam, getting my money back is more important. You know they always say if a deal is to good to be true then it probably is but what are you supposed to think on ebay? Your bidding to get a deal, otherwise unless emotion gets a hold of you, you will drop out of the bidding. I kept the pictures of the dragons from ebay and the sellers name and will watch to see if they try and resell them and alert ebay and the forum here as well.
I’ve wanted a Peacock SK for a long time, like I’m sure a lot others as well. There were 2 in the store last week and then they were gone pretty quick. I’m wondering if Windstone took them out of the store to ebay them for more exposure. That being said I know they would have sold from the store in short order anyway’s. Being from Canada I kind of missed the boat on buying one when our dollar was on par with the US one. I was new to the forum then and didn’t even know about the SK until I saw them on here. By the time I was getting my head around purchasing one for $850.00 they were sold out. Then our dollar tanked and now I’m looking at another $200.00 + premium to buy one, which makes it that much harder to justify. I know others outside of the USA must feel the same way, what with currencies and shipping costs involved. Oh well I know I will get one eventually, why, I think you all know why. :yum:
Mine don’t say anything either (boxes). While were on the subject though of questions about the new forum. I wonder if it would be possible to change the highlight colour of the sticky lightbulbs to one that is different to the regular forum questions. I find it is a little harder to scroll down to the regular forum posts and skip over the sticky’s because I don’t need to read them everytime. If it’s a bother, or no one else cares, then by all means leave things as they are.
Had a Samoyed that developed arthritis as well. Started her on glucosomine to. She got better for a while then she developed a severe skin disorder to the glucosomine and her hair started falling out. Apparently dogs can develope an allergy to it. So we switched her over to childrens liquid Motrin. She loved it so there was no trouble in getting her to take it and while it couldn’t alleviate the arthritis it did ease her pain and made her comfortable.
Jennifer wrote:There are a couple of possibilities I can think of:
– Maybe it belonged to someone who visited/knew Melody and had her sign it (seems kinda unlikely- they didn’t spell her name right or include any other info), or
– Maybe it belonged to an employee from the factory that had Melody sign it (seems very unlikely as they’d know what they had! Unless they gave it to someone else), or
– Melody might have at one time signed one of these guys for whatever mysterious Melody reason, or,
– It could be faked. The best thing you could do is ask the seller where they got the dragon and how it came to be signed. You can try asking Melody, but she might not remember!
They have not been sold with a signature since I started working for Windstone.
I know the original seller claimed to have got it at a flea market. The current seller is just trying to flip it for more money. I suppose it could be a legit signature as the possible reasons people have given here are all very plausible. I was just initially skeptical as I knew that Melody didn’t normally sign those sculpts.
Do you have a special colour you like? As a peacock collector I like the peacock and the black violet and black emerald peacocks the most. Very nice collection though.
