Thanks! It was a nail-biter!

*coughs*
Not bad. Not bad at all. *sheepish grin*
He’ll almost definitely feel at home with another flame-colored based gryphon. 🙂

ddvm wrote:Really cool! I love the clarinet cat – he is too cute. I can see why he sold. Good luck in the art show! Let us know how you do – plus I would love to see more of your pieces!
Thanks!
I need to *make* more pieces, but when I do I’ll post pics here. Right now, my instructor has me back on fixing instruments, so I’m working on a saxophone and refinishing a bassoon (class project) while there’s a flute waiting for my care on the desk. *sighs* 🙂

Very cool!
I hope it’s not considered stealing his idea? I didn’t even know that website existed until now. Incredible artwork and beautiful detail.

Oh goodness, nonono XD Please don’t miss house payments to pay for dragons…! I’d feel terribly guilty.
The irony there is that selling these is allowing me to make my mortgage payments. o_o
*laughs* Maybe Drag0n can buy him and then move in with you to share mortgage payments. XD

Wow, the two with the dichroic eyes are stunning! I like the other two, but am not quite as “wowed” with the color schemes. Heh, trust me- if I could, I would try to take ALL of these guys home, but that’s not going to happen. 🙂 Gotta be choosy.
Thank you for posting the pic of the other three, Pam! That helps a LOT. 🙂

Uh, hi.
I’m in college learning to fix instruments. In my free time (yeah, right) I’ve developed a new hobby: Instrument Statues.
Here’re the three I’ve done so far.
Clarinet Cat #1 – debuted in AC08’s Art Show and won the Art Director’s Honorable Mention
Sold on the seventh bid, too! *glee*
Brass Bouquet #1 – created and donated to WITCC’s Administrative office in trade for free run of the instrument “bone yard” for my projects. WOOT!
Trombone Bird #1 – Going to debut at this year’s AC Art Show. Wish me luck! So… *heh* Whaddaya think? 😀

April 3, 2009 at 1:51 am in reply to: Tyrrlin's PYOs: Metallic Splendor PYO Griffin (page 2) #730381I haven’t posted in a while, so figured I’d give a quick WIP pic of my latest PYO.
Roadside Hawk griffin.I plan to put him in the AC Art Show in July with some other pieces (not Windstone) I’m prepping.
Comments and constructive critique welcomed. 🙂

Yes, yesss… look at the pretty dragon.
You all want that dragon. Just ignore the griffin on eBay right now. >.>
The dragon wants to go home with you.

I saw that. In the desc they’re just claiming it as “taller than a Windstone” so I have no idea why “Windstone” is in the auction title. Misrepresentation.

Not necessarily. I had to pay customs for the Female Sunburst Griffin I bought from a Canadian forum member.
Really? How come? I have never had to pay customs from anywhere, and I have received stuff from Switzerland, Canada, Germany, everywhere in the us, Iraq… Were there special circumstances or something, like COD stuff?Honestly, I don’t remember the exact circumstances. I was so happy to get the griffin that I just whipped out my checkbook (it had to be a check for some reason) and told myself it was worth it.

OOAK GOLD WINE MALE GRIFFIN: This is one of only 4 Male griffs by Olimpia that we have (and I think they are all OOAK–at least, they are all different). Also, it’s just this one and one other that have dichroic eyes. The other two have regular eyes. Of the two dichroic eyed griffins, this is IMO the prettier one. There is also one Female griff by Olimpia.
It doesn’t show in the pics, but the antiquing on top of this guy’s head looks awesome. And the red on his back half looks like cranberry juice! http://img.alibaba.com/photo/203623583/Ocean_Spray_Cranberry_Juice.jpg (Or, wine…)Out of curiosity (and in a vain attempt to save my brain) what kind of color schemes are the other griffins? Are there any other warm/flame ones, or are they cooler, or grey-scale… just trying to get an idea of what to expect. 🙂
