He’s FINISHED!
Introducing my “Roadside Hawk” Griffin #1. Roadside Hawks are somewhat rare raptors living in the Southern U.S. I really liked their markings when I paged through my “Raptors of the U.S.” book, so here he is!
(Also will be pics in the Gallery)
The hawk portions are as realistic as my poor skills could make it, based on a variety of drawings and ref photos. (Minus the interference paint, of course! XD )

(And THIS morning, I even had an almost-nightmare about getting the box (out of the Post Office guy’s trunk!), seeing it was *just* the griffin box, AND damaged. I tilted the box and heard/felt an ominous “clunk”… opened it to find the gryphon’s head wrapped in tissue paper, and the body loosely braced with styrofoam… and two claws broken clean off! I didn’t have the heart to unwrap the head… I was crying so in my dream “no…no…no…no..!” that I woke myself up!)
Well, it came as a DELIGHTFUL surprise to see THIS baby *TRIPLE* boxed! Woot!
Okay, on to the pics….
Happily safe on the shelf with his fuzzy. …but I couldn’t resist a few more photos. (and I had to dust the shelves, anyway)
Gold Wine: “So, man, am I gonna like it here?”
