One of my favorites from my family cookbook. Enjoy!
Chocolate Pots de Creme
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped (I like Scharfen Berger or Valrhona)
2 cups heavy cream
4 large egg yolks
1/3 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon grated orange zest (optional)Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Put the chopped chocolate in a large measuring cup or mixing bowl and set a sieve on top. Pour the cream into a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer, then remove from heat. If using orange zest, stir it into the cream before heating and steep 5 minutes covered, off the heat.
Meanwhile, whisk the egg yolks in a mixing bowl, adding the sugar gradually. Continue whisking for a minute or until the yolks are pale yellow and thick and form a ribbon when dropped from the whisk.
By driblets, pour the hot cream into the egg yolks, stirring (not beating) with the whisk, until evenly blended. Immediately pour this custard through the sieve over the chocolate pieces, removing any coagulated bits of egg, and stir gently with a large spoon to melt the chocolate and blend it into the custard. Stir in the vanilla extract. Skim off any surface bubbles.
Fill individual ramekins with chocolate mixture and bake for 25 minutes in a water bath as for other custard recipes. Chill thoroughly, at least 4 hours, before serving. The custard will be quite soft when it comes out of the oven, but will set up as it chills.

DragonMistress,
I don’t know of any online support groups, but if you need to talk I’m available. I’ve talked about my twins, in fact they are part of my online name, but what I don’t say often is that we started the pregnancy with four little munchkins and I miscarried two really early on. We thought we were gonna loose the whole shooting match; it was our one and only pregnancy. So, if you need a shoulder, please feel free to use mine. My boys will be tweleve on the 29th of this month and I still do miss my other two boys. As a side note, when Ethan and Sean were turning three they had an interesting “twin” conversation and came to ask me if the “two other brothers would be turning three with us if they were here?” My hubby and I hadn’t yet told the boys that they were actually quads…

So, you really have to hunt for them? Or be creative when it comes to words to enter in search?

that works too! you just have to bake it a bit longer; you don’t want a doughy middle (biscuit middle not your middle 😯 😆 )

that wasn’t a very nice situation for you to endure 😥 i’m sorry. i know how that is 1. to be shy and 2. b/f mom/motherinlaw conflict. luckily the mominlaw situation worked itself out but it wasn’t easy. the shy stuff… i still have some issues with it, but got over a lot of it when i worked as a tour guide 😯 don’t know what i was thinking with that one; worked at the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California. literally had to go throw up before every tour i gave for a week! got me over a lot of shyness real fast 😯 😀 but i can still feel for you. not a lot of fun any way you look at it.

Another good recipe from our family cookbook. Enjoy!
Dad’s Cream Biscuits
2 Cups flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 to 1 1/2 Cups heavy creamMix dry ingredients together, add 1 cup of cream and mix to incorporate. If too dry, add a little extra cream. Turn out on a floured board and knead ten turns – 1 to 2 minutes. Roll out 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick and cut into rounds. Pour a little oil into a baking pan and tip to distribute. Dip each biscuit into the oil, then turn over to coat both sides. Place close together, bake at 450 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes, until golden brown. Serve hot with butter and honey or butter and G’ma D’s pomegranate jelly.
