I liked the bright purple best, but since it isn’t a possibility (I also remember hearing that they hadn’t quite figured out the making of that color eye), I vote for the royal blue. I like it better than any of the other possible colors. Green, (gasp) pink and straw were possiilities, but… 🙄 Even though orange is my favorite for eyes, it’s ‘meh’ here. Of course, I’m not a fan of the rainbow color scheme.
Edited to remove the things you got, thanks Tintaglia! And HUGE congrats mmloda!
The emp at Wicks and Sticks looked noticeably lighter than the one at A Lotta Scents. That one was so dark you could hardly see the eyes. 😆Onyxt, I had called Merlins Vision in Deland, and the man told me they no longer had Windstones. If you live near there, maybe you should work on them!
Anyone live west/south of Orlando want to check stores there? I want to try and hit the ones in the Cocoa area when I can. I did check Handwerk Haus in Cocoa Village last year, all they had was stone cats (like Puffin).
*clutches all the green dragons* I LOVE my green dragosn! I never really thought of it as cliche, you may be right. But green is my favorite color! (except when blue is)
If it’s a popular thing, all the more reason for the company to run with it, and do more some-kind-of-green dragons (not now maybe emerald peacock works as green for now). I do agree that jade probably wouldn’t be a good idea, though- unless it’s as LP on dragons you KNOW were never made in jade. There would be too much confusion with emeralds I think and people upset about devaluation of their existing jade pieces. Has there been an issue with people upset about devaluation of their LE OWs in experimental colors which ended up being used? (i.e. emerald peacock) Melody did say that any of those colors might end up being used, but people being people…
*loves the dragons best, so is happy*
You know what would be really cruel, slip something people have been squeaking for into the background of the pics- hidden just enough so that you can’t be sure that you’re seeing it.
I didn’t see any flapcats- or retired cats, griffins or hoofers of any sort except candlelamps. (though the shopkeeps apparently snagged all the kirins lol)
I’ll try to hit more regional shops as gas money and time allow. Maybe we can’t all inspire a new dealer to carry Windstones, but we can support the company be getting current dealers to reorder. 😉
Besides, who knows what treasures may be lurking- if not for me- for someone else here!Sorry about the typo on the hippogriff’s price- I fixed it. 😳
Even better on the sale- they were 25% last week! 😯
Sounds like Tintaglia’s closer than I to that mall- it takes me an hour or so to get there. If she’s willing to go, she can probably get there quicker than I! Speaking of which, there’s a shop in Ormond which says they have older pieces, but I haven’t been able to get that far. Want to check them?Mmmm… I like the more natural-colored dragons, and the male is just almost my favorite pose. I like!
Sorry I didn’t see this- 25% an maybe if you mention this and she still has lots of stuff, she’d honor it.
Guess it depends on who you speak with as to whether a store will ship- that’s why I thought I’d offer to do it for people. Didn’t want to show someone something they wanted and then they can’t get it.
The empeas with a lot of purple are (to my understanding) from the earliest batches, now they have little to no purple. Some people seem to prefer the lots of purple.
Edit to add another shop’s goodies!
Didn’t find a trade, but he has a buyer. PM’ing you!
CONGRATULATIONS! 😛
She’s beautiful! You did a WONDERFUL job!You can see some champagne on this guy’s belly- it’s there, but the photo really brought it out to me, compared with the dragon in real life. The camera also made the green look brighter/more teal.
Although this dragon looks to have less champagne, I think he has slightly more in real life.
The only difference is that the photos were taken about 5 or so minutes apart, approaching sunset, and clouds moving in.So maybe it is just screwy colors in the pic of a normal peacock.
(for what it’s worth, a truer example of the 1st OW’s color would be the photo of the lap I have in the flea market- the colors there are quite different from how they look in the OW’s photo)Just wanted to offer a belated CONGRATULATIONS! whoo hoo! 😀
Bumping this because I like perpetual calendars, and am enchanted with the idea of a dragon one! Even if I didn’t remember to change it daily. It could match the trio…
This is an absolutely gorgeous paint job- not entirely sure I prefer it to the olivine emp, but then since I’m partial to old greens and ‘natural’ color schemes… 🙄 I think this or something very like it would be a successful production color; is there a clause that will allow you to use any of these special paint jobs as a future production color, like there has been with the prototype OW paints?
What about putting him on the black T-shirts in the Cafepress shop? I was looking at them and none of the Ts jumped at me; this guy would work wonderful.
Truthfully, at this point, as long as the riser was of the brighter paint phase and the damage was minor and easily repairable, I’d go for it. Shipping to Europe might be quite painful with the new postal rates, though. Worth considering!
I live about 50 miles from Disney World… not planning another US trip, are you? 😛I have an offer on the OW of $300. If there are no trades or better offers before Monday morning, it has a home.
