😆 Come to think of it, I don’t remember what they taught us in algebra class back in jr. high. I just remember the problems about the trains passing each other at different speeds…
I was just going to post something about that! I’m in Santa Clara, so I think you felt it a bit more than I did.
I was worried about things falling off the shelves, but luckily nothing did… 😀
😆 Kinda takes you back to your old algebra days, huh? 😆

Tintaglia was on the right track…basically the answer is always a multiple of 9, on their chart multiples of 9 are always assigned the same symbol, and this is the symbol which is shown at the end. But the assigned symbol changes each time you try it, which makes it harder to pick up on what the program is doing. To see why it always has to be a multiple of 9, consider the following:
1) A 2 digit number can be symbolized by XY, where Y is the least significant digit.
2) We’re told to add the two digits together (X+Y) and subtract that from the original number (10X+Y), to get the final number (FN).
3) If we express this as an equation we get: (10X + Y) – (X+Y) = FN
4) If we combine the terms, we get: 9X = FN
5) This means than FN (the final number) is always a multiple of 9, since X is a number from 1-9.
Awesome!

Glad to hear from you! Hope you’re around more often from now on. 🙂
Good to see you around! Are things better now?

Just wondering if you had had a chance to check on this…

That’s the truth! About 10 years ago, someone did that to my new car ~1 month after I got it — it happened in the space of ~10 min while I ran into my usual supermarket to get something.
Luckily nothing like that has happened since, but I’ve always wondered what kind of sick person would do something like that to someone they don’t even know.

I’ve never had Russian dressing before — is that similar to Thousand Island dressing?
Wishbone makes it… it is different from Thousand Island. A little bit sweeter… its red in color. Its also pretty good stuff just to bake on chicken.
Thanks, I’ll look for it next time I’m in the supermarket. I’m going to see if I can try out your recipe this weekend! 🙂Wow, that looks great!
And its amazing that you’ve painted 100 PYO’s! 😯
Since your friend got angry the last time you brought up this problem with her, it seems that her ADD isn’t the only reason that she keeps touching your Windstones even though you’ve repeatedly told her not to. As your guest, she should respect your wishes while visiting you.
I think keeping her out of your room while you hang out is the best solution, and you shouldn’t feel bad about it at all. If your friend doesn’t object to this, just leave it at that. If she does, you should just tell her frankly that its important to you that people not touch your Windstones, and that since her ADD prevents her from remembering your wishes, you’d prefer not to hang out in your room. If she really is your friend, then she shouldn’t have any problem with that.
I’ll have to try it too!
