Thank you everyone! It was nice to go a bit all-out with painting.
Also it honestly doesn’t feel like I spent about 3 weeks on that piece. My sense of time is so out the window!
Meteor’s Wish is all done!
I used a lot of my more interesting paints on this one. It has glow in the dark spots in its eyes (they’re very roughly shaped like the Cancer and Libra constellations) and on its wing spikes, temperature-based color-changing paint on its wings, and lots of pretty holographic/metallic/interference paint all over its body.
I plan on selling it, but I’m not sure on price yet.
I love the unicorn’s colors!
Thank you! With luck it’ll be finished by Monday at the latest.
Looks like the Ocean’s Flame Sun Dragon is going to be a fun one to watch if the first 30 minutes of bidding is any indicator.
Progress on the space dragon. The blue on the wings is very vibrant so I will likely break it up with some glitter. The spine scales have rainbow holographic top coat on them which really catches your eyes. All that’s left is to paint the inner wings and varnish the piece. I’m debating between Cosmonaut or Meteor’s Wish for its name.
Painted a tiny koi dragon today.
It has little gold-colored foil flakes on its body. I don’t know that the foil is made of but it’s so light that if you breathe in its general direction the stuff goes everywhere.
I liked the simple design so much I opted not to paint eyes on it.
It is for sale; contact me if interested. I can add eyes per buyer’s request.
I just noticed the horns on the ki-rins don’t look as smooth as they usually do. Were these painted gold?
The eyes on the second one look super dialated like a cat’s when it’s about to pounce on something lol
Nice! Let me know what you think of them. The non-rainbow ones are nice on their own but look amazing if paired.
The Dragonfly Topcoat is made by Folkart. I got mine at Hobby Lobby but I’ve also seen it at Michaels. Finding it in a brick and mortar store might be hit or miss since it seems to sell out pretty quickly.
The sculpture’s really nice in person. It’s very visually pleasing. Hopefully the paint job will do it justice in the end.
