Melody tends to give her equines heavily feathered legs. This allows for extra support because the gypsum is fragile. The young qi-lins have extra feathers in the same spot.

I love all the new colors Gina has done. We have had Blue Morpho though, so I’m squeaking for the red color. There hasn’t been a red production color in a while. Carnelian would work too.

Okay. Received my piece last week, held off on opening it until I finished mine (it’s incentive). 905 by L. Sparling—it’s dealer’s choice, so I don’t know the specific theme she was going for. Phoenix on rose quartz with charcoal and green with metallic gold and silver, custom eyes.

Here’s the problem—I don’t have Photoshop anymore, and for some reason my current photo management program won’t let me shrink the file size. So I don’t have any photos here because they’re too big! They are over on the Facebook page because that will compress them. (This is especially annoying because I use Photoshop for work all the time, this is a thing I know EXACTLY how to do… in that program. GIMP doesn’t have what I’m looking for, at least not where I can find it.)

            Here you go:

It only lets me do 4.

Melody makes the original sculpture, they make a mold of it and all the ones for sale are cast in gypsum from it. Then they are hand painted and airbrushed. The 1996 on the sculpt is the year Melody made and copywrited it. All castings will have the same stamp. The copper patina finish would be worth more than the stone one because less were made. Whether it is worth that much more is up to the folks bidding on it. Usually though, pieces in that size range don’t go that high unless they are test paints or retired and really rare. This piece is postponed production, so they could possibly make more in the future.

I don’t remember getting an email, but an announcement was posted here and on Facebook. Also the pre-order listing was on the main page of this website. I don’t think it was posted anywhere else, so if you were looking on the product pages you may have missed it. The announcement here posted on 9/11.

If you go to the main Windstone page and search “silver spectral” you can find them. There is a waitlist button, but the say they are unsigned limited production.

This is one of the “ overcast” pieces:

Definitely “silvery silver” and not “intense black silver”. It almost looks more like the “overcast” color Gina did a while back.

Any chance of Autumnal or Halloween themed grabs in the near future. (I don’t really expect it as it looks like you’ve been very busy with other projects, but figured it didn’t hurt to ask. 😉 )

I am having the casters make a batch of pebble wolves to do as pumpkin spice wolves! I hope I’ll have time to do them.
The African Wild dog hippogriffs I am working on now will probably take me a few more weeks, that leaves only a short time to get pebble wolves painted before Halloween!

I’m sure no one would mind if the pumpkin spice wolves are a little late. Of course, winter wolves would be super gorgeous too.

I like the blue eyes with the Carnelian because it picks up the blue accents in the scales. Metallic gold eyes would be pretty too and pick up the gold accents.

Those cranberry ones look like the darker pieces in the ruby collection.

I still don’t understand the complaint against “snipping” like it’s some crime. It’s not the person with the fastest internet that wins an auction – It’s the Highest Bid. Doesn’t matter when it arrives, as long as it arrives before the auction is over. Bidding late or early – the person who is willing to pay the most, wins. That’s just how auctions work.

Agreed. All “sniping” does is not allow the next highest bidder to decide they really don’t need to pay the rent this month after all. 😆 I do tend to wait to bid till near the end unless I am going to be away from the internet for a while, specifically because I don’t want to talk myself into being willing to pay more than my high bid.

Happy Birthday! Your Ki-rin babies are beautiful. I keep hoping that they will do a new production color for those. If they do Atlantis that might work for one. Several of your babies have teal or copper bits. I’ve been wanting a Koi male to go with my family. They are mostly koi-ish. I have a koi momma, but she wouldn’t look right with yours and has gunmetal eyes.

There is a Windstone cat gargoyle that looks like that. It is no longer in production. The finish looks a bit weird to me, but that could just be the photography. I can see a chip in the wing on the left side, but that could be repaired. I think this is a picture from one of the old brochures :
