I got the ones that I ordered today as well. One of them is missing the gold on the face and the other one is missing gold a couple of other places. It does look like they were in a hurry to get them done…which I am kind of disapointed because I paid money for it to be done right. I don’t think I should have to do it myself. But on the otherhand it does make it unique.
There is no “They” to blame here, I screwed up on these all by myself. This is what happens if you are trying to do “American History” with an eightgrader at the same time as trying to work quickly.
If you would like to exchange the dragon for another one, or get touch up paint from me, let me know.I will do it, pronto.Melody mistakes! Ooh, these are extra special. 😆 Not that rare, actually.
frozendragon wrote:right….I for one am totally willing to wait longer if it means they don’t have to rush the paint jobs….or anything else…
but they are fixable…and I’d rather just do it myself than think about sending back to see if it can be fixed and waiting for it to be sent out again….what a waste of time…and more money…
I just want to get the touch up paint to make sure anything I adjust matches perfect… We will send you paint.

If you would like to exchange the dragon for another one, or get touch up paint from me, let me know.I will do it, pronto.I will try to paint a few more green fledgelings for those forum members who missed them, when I get a chance. (This may be in a month or so). I only have a small amount of paint left, so the number will be limited.
DantheDragon wrote:Since I spectacularly missed the fledglings, is there any of that old green paint left for a batch of non-proto old warriors? *hatchling eyes* Q_Q
And for the love of all dragons anywhere, if any ARE made someone PM me? /sob
There was very little of the old green paint left,(..unless I find more bottles of it stashed somewhere.) That is one reason that the fledges were a one time thing. If and when I have time (ha)I will attempt to paint some more dragons with the paint I have left. I want to paint a few more fledges for the folks here on the forum that missed them, and I guess I could paint some other dragons as well, if there is any left over.(I better save some for touch up paint too!) I need to see how much paint there is and figure out which other dragons, if any, I can do with it.Greater Basilisk wrote:Thanks for asking, SilverArrow.
Since kirins aren’t being produced, it saves Melody that headache. But I’m getting curiouser and curiouser to see which color she’ll decide on for the griffs. Evidently she didn’t go the democratic way and take whatever color the majority voted for in the old poll. 😆Could you give me a link to the poll? I can’t find it again!
SilverArrow wrote:Hey Melody!
What is/was the most difficult sculpt you have done and which has been the easiest?
Also, what is your favorite sculp to paint?
The easiest was the hatching rock with eyes. It is just a cast rock with cracks and eyes peeking out!
The hardest, well, if you mean time-wise, the Secret Keeper took us over two years, or something like that, to finish. She was really a problem, too, because we couldn’t figure out how to make her feet fit. If you look in my Elfwood gallery there is a pic of the rough clay model. You can see that she originally had both feet on her tail. They just wouldn’t fit! Finally, out of desperation, I raised her paw, that is why she is Secret Keeper. Her secret is that I made a mistake, and designed her wrong.
My favorite one to paint is the old warrior, fortunately. He always looks good. Oddly enoough, many of the other dragons don’t look good in colors that the Old Warrioer looks good in. The ones that are hardest to paint. Kirins. They are murder. The griffin family is giving me headaches, also.dragonmedley wrote:I just receive my brown mother dragon and noticed (aside from the difference in color) that the eyes were a different blue.

Are there many brown dragons with that light blue eye color? You just sent me an image of this dragon, didn’t you? This is a very old dragon, probably one of the very first we did in this color. Ways to identify the very old browns: The eyes were a lighter blue, They had a more uniform dark reddish color, no pad, messy gold, and the finish on the scales and details were rougher.
I didn’t start really refining the sculptures in plaster until after we had been making these guys for awhile. He may be cast from a mold made directly off of the clay original,or a master made directly from it, with little, if any, refinement done to the details. He was probably made in 1985 or so, when we first started casting them. He may even have a seam line down the back, I don’t remember if the males were ever cast in two part molds, but the oldest females were.lamortefille wrote:I have a Peacock Emperor with a horn that needs to be touched up. I noticed the horns are not gold, but more of a bronze? color. Can you tell me which paint or paint pen to buy to fix him up? I hate to keep asking Karen for touch-up paint. Thanks!
…Or just use Golden copper paint.

I can send you some touch up paint. Send me an email with your address and be prepared to remind me if you don’t get it quickly. I always forget who needs what. (I need a better way to keep track of this!)
Arlla wrote:This may have been addressed elsewhere…sorry if I’ve missed it…but I just wanted to know if there will be another batch of old green fledgling dragons…or anything else in old green in that matter! Hatching kinglets!! 😀
I don’t plan to do more fledglings, and have no plans for other designs, but maybe in the future, who knows? That was kind-of a one time thing.
Dreamspirit wrote:I see that all the original “family” of Windstone dragons are now avaialble in the hybrid emerald-peacock, and I’m wondering, HOPING there are plans to release the Emperor in that color as well. Do you have any idea if this is in the works, Melody?
-Kymba Yes, of course. I’m too tired right now to think about it.

I have never really liked the poads either as many here can vouche for. I even saw then in person and feel the same way. But to be fair I really only collect dragons
:p
Sorry Melody i know they where your vision but they just did not jump out at me. I hope you don’t hate me now???
Ha ha… of course not. I am ASTOUNDED that anyone liked them!
Dragon Master wrote:go ahead I think everyone knows I was trying to say bUdget but then again as I have said before I’m not a typist and shouldn’t be in this forum at work
