What is your favorite comic in the newspaper?
Why is it your favorite? My favorites that are being printed now: (of course, of the dead ones, “Far Side” and “Calvin and Hobbs” were the greatest, but that goes without saying…) are “Doonesbury”, “For Better or Worse”, “Opus”, and one nobody has heard of.. “Dinette Set”.

I am painting calico flapcats right now!
Show us a picture! Are these the eyes shut version?
These are the eye shut ones. They will be limited edition. I’ll put pic up when I get a finished one.
Question: Do calico (tortoise and white) cats always have the black marking on the face on the cat’s right side? Seems like every one I’ve seen does. Is this just a coincidence? The “wolf” griffins are intended to be regular production, available from the stores. We will auction the first ten of each on Ebay, like we’ve been doing with the new colors we come out with. Yes, they are complicated to paint!
dragonessjade wrote:Could you tell me the names of magazines and around the month and year?
I don’t have a list myself, but maybe there is a list somewhere. I have saved a couple of the better ones, but I probably won’t be able to find them! I’ll see what info I can find.
I just posted a pic of the wolf colored griffin family in my gallery, if you’d like to see them. They will have green jewels that match their eyes.
Quote:[“dragonessjade”]I was wondering if Windstone Editions has been in any magazines, newspapers, news or anything like that.
Also I found this book (The crying of Lot 49)http://www.hyperarts.com/pynchon/covers/cl49_cvr.html#2 that used Windstone Edition underneath the book picture and was wondering if your company had anything to do with it.
We have done lots of articles for trade magazines (gift and collectables magazines), but not for any “regular” ones.
I’ve seen those Windstone books. They seem to be a subdivision of Bantam books or something. There seems to be Windstone brand aluminum Christmas trees too,and a Windstone golf course. We aren’t related to any of them!emerald212 wrote:Ooo! A calico would be nice, or a tortie.

frozendragon wrote:I know I’ve asked about having a white sitting spectral done and that got a yes (still waiting patiently)
but what about doing a cat wizard in white, I know I would buy one…I’m sure there are a few other people that would buy on also….
I think it would be really cool…We never did a white sitting Spectral?? I though we did…oops.
I’ve had a few requests for white Cat Wizards, but I don’t think we are casting them now. I’ll check. If we are I will consider it.I got my Cafepress Old brown scratching dragon mug today! It is beautiful! The quality of the mugs, at least, is impressive!
I haven’t gotten a shirt yet though… I guess I should order one.First batch of Pearl chicks are painted. I counted thirty , but I think I will have more painted very soon because I don’t think that is nearly enough. They are limited production, not limited edition, so don’t break the bank! We will make more.
I still need to go over these and be sure they are the way I want them to look, so they probably won’t get on Ebay until end of the week.
You should get an email about them if you are on the list.skigod377 wrote:I would love to see them with the purple you recently added to the regular golds. I think im gonna collect the whole family 🙂
Depends on what you mean by “in the works” . We are planning to do them, but nobody is doing them yet. Make requests, I do as I’m told!

I was wondering what is the story behind the Parliament of Owls candlelamp? What types of owls are these? I think I know what a couple of them are, but I’m not an owl expert, so I thought I’d just ask. This topic may have been covered elsewhere, but I can’t find it. If it has, maybe someone can direct me to the proper thread.
A “parliment” really is the correct term for a group of owls, although as far as I know, owls never group together.
The owls in the candle lamp aren’t accurate, realistic representations of any particular owl species, but they are roughly based on;(from left to right) a Burrowing Owl, a Snowy Owl, a Great Horned Owl( with much shorter horns than they really have) and a Little Owl.whippetluv wrote:Sorry to drag up an old post…but it was the newest about the baby gryphons!
I am working on saving up for them…but I need some PYOs too. So since I won’t be able to afford both at the same time, can you update us with…About when the pearl babies will be ready. no need to be real close, just a broad idea. Within a month…a few months…you know kinda that idea.
And Mommy and Daddy were 250 each…what about the babies? Will they be sold as a pair? And vauge price ideas?
I know I am a pain in the butt to ask…sorry. The first sitting
chicks will PROBABLY get put on ebay THIS WEEK. This first batch of pearl chicks was already half finished last Friaday.
We haven’t given them a price yet. The crouching one isn’t in production. He had belly-casting issues. I was wondering if it is still in print? It’s a portrait of a unicorn with leaves and berries and a mouse in his mane. I’ve looked around and haven’t seen anywhere else.
We must be sold out of those prints, since they aren’t on our website. These “out-of-print” prints go for around fifty dollars each, sometimes more…I wish I had kept records of the actual figures. Keep your eyes open, these prints will show up occasionally on ebay.If you find any of them, you can check our website (in the art prints section) to see if it is a design we still have in stock, or not.
Greater Basilisk wrote:I described my view of a basilisk on the last page. Sorry I can-t actually give you a sketch, but I-m not on my own computer right now.
A chimera – for me, a chimera has a lion-s, a goat-s and a dragon-s head, and snake as a tail. But a scorpion tail would be cool, too. Mythologically it-s described as being lion in front, goat in the middle and dragon behind, which I don-t think is quite interesting enough.
Could you do something with that? *hope hope*Are a basilisk and a cockatrice the same thing? I thought a basilisk was a more reptile-like thing.(Harry Potter visuals)
Chimeras seem so … crabby. -
