Yep. Fooled me too. I never thought anyone would bother to take the time to make a fake so well. It looked very real from the pictures on the auction, but I questioned it the moment I picked it up. It was just too light and the eyes weren’t right. I’m glad I asked. I’m out a bit of money, but no one else will be. I don’t know what I’m going to do with it, but I’ll make sure it isn’t resold.
Just love her for what she is, a dragon, after all.

Or is it called a “perd”? š i tis called a “clutter”.

They woulsn’t look right if you didn’t have a cluster of them =)A group of poadsā¢ is called a clutter.
copper83 wrote:I have what is probably going to be a silly question. Do the Poads have feet? Just curious.
Yes . They have ugly little feet.
Skylover wrote:I’m not holding out much hope at this point. I have several male and female dragons of various colors. I noticed that she seemed light when I first picked her up, so I went and held one of the other mother dragons that I have. There is definately a difference in weight. She is probably a pound or two lighter than my other mother dragons.
Fake. But an unusually good one.. had me going!
Skylover wrote:Hmm, maybe she is a fake.
Her bottom is covered with a green felt like substance. I’ve peeled part of it off and from what I can tell, the bottom is painted black.
Like I said the eyes are just throwing me off. They don’t look right. They bulge, are a very bright blue like no color I have seen before on a Windstone, and no they don’t appear to be glass.
Bummer. She is impressively painted and detailed for a fake though. She even has jewels like a Windstone, but come to think of it they are a much lighter purple than the ones on regular greens. Not to give you false hope, but we did paint the bottoms black on some for a while.
Do you have a male dragon? Is she much lighter than him? They should be about the same weight.Skylover wrote:I wish I could take a picture of the bottom. Unfortunately, the previous owner glued some green felt to the bottom, and I think I might do more harm than good removing it.
She is very nice looking. Her paint job is of Windstone quality. It’s just her eyes which bulge and have large pupils and her weight that throw me off. I strongly believe that she is real, just old, but I wanted to make sure.
She seems too light, in weight?? That is a give away… The fakes were very light.
Can you show me a pic of the bottom anyway? The edge of the bottom is distinctive in the fakes , they are rounded, as I recall..and messy looking.
Do you know the previous owner put the felt on? Or did you just get it that way? The fakes may of had fuzzy velvet-like stuff on the bottom.
The paint job looks real. But the eyes look too blue, and the lack of gold on the nose bump is odd. If a painter of ours painted one for themselves they wouldn’t of forgotten that! She also doesn’t look antiqued…. hmmm
Can you tap on the eyes with something hard and see if they are glass or not? I know some folks are expert at replacing the eyes in Windstones, she might be real, with retro-fitted eyes.
The jewels are the wrong color too, which means she isn’t one of the accidental ones, but she still might be one of the customised ones that an employee made.Skylover wrote:Hello Melody! I have a question. I recently got a blue eyed green mother dragon on ebay, and I was wondering if she was real or a rather well done fake. Her color goes from a dark blue green to an olive green and she has bright blue eyes. The blue eyes are actully one of the things that I’m questioning. They are not a color that I have seen on a Windstone before and the pupils are rather large. She also seems a bit lighter than the other mother dragons that I have.
Here’s a couple pictures: (I hope this works)
Please let me know what you think.
Thank you!OH my gosh! That might be real!
There were fakes that looked like that too, though…can you post a pic of the bottom?
I know some Green dragons went out with blue eyes by accident. I’ve been waiting for one to show up on ebay! -But there were fakes also, that looked very much like ours and had blue eyes. They could be told by the different bottom, and the lack of antique.
I think yours is real.
It would probably have a Windstone stamp on it, though not always..Whenever an employee made one for themselves, they would almost always put blue eyes in the green dragons. Those self-customised ones may not of been stamped, but may have an “M” with a circle which meant I ok’ed the dragon to leave the factory.Pam Thompson wrote:You have a page with Windstones that can be ordered direct from the factory. Meercats, polar bears, white and brown rising spectrals, etc… Will black grand unis ever be added?.
No, Grand unis in black were a limited edition. Other colors maybe, in the future.
Quote:Will ANY of the griffons (the old male or the new female and chicks) ever be added? Like pearls perhaps? Or the new griffs in retired colors? I really wanted a pearl mother or a black chick, but I won’t have the money for a long time.
Yes. We plan to make the hen and chicks in retired colors, available as direct sales. The male is available in pearl as a direct sale thing.
The Wolf ones will only be available from stores, except for the first ten of each that we will auction.
This is so complicated!drag0nfeathers wrote:Any new designs for tees/bags/mugs and what not in the works soon? I keep wanting to make an order but I have that feeling like as soon as I do a bunch of new stuff will pop up the next day XD
Yes , I just need a minute to work on it! I have some poadā¢ stuff coming.

Most strange characters like that have an ALT+NUMPAD combo. If you go into your character map on your computer and click on the symbol, you can learn the key combo. š-funny thing is, when I did that, the codes are all different from the ones that work! Somethings not right here…
Huh! There’s probably a reason for that (that I don’t know). Maybe a language setting or something crazy. You’re looking at the ALT+number codes, not the U+number codes right? Uh, yes, I am looking at U+number codes.. where are the alt+numbercodes?
Depends on your version of Windows I think, but try looking at the very bottom of the Charmap window, all the way on the right side?
…huh, mine doesn’t show that.
Oh wait! There it is! I had to select a character before it showed up.. Ha! Look what I found! One of these Ʊ ! Finally!Nambroth wrote:Melody wrote:Nambroth wrote:drag0nfeathers wrote:Cool! I never knew that! I find little “easter egg” things like that so interesting.

A preorder list!?! YES! *dances*
Yes, but not now. We gotta wait till we have them to take orders on. Please don’t bug Karen and Susie about these, as they can’t take pre-orders on them yet.March 7, 2007 at 11:46 pm in reply to: address? and a pre-order question from my mother! ha! #548268Nambroth wrote:Melody wrote:You can pre-order poads ™ when they are ready to sell, right now they are unpainted. By the way, my lawyer, Alan, said that I must put “tm” after the name “poad”(tm),because it is trademarked. Argh, this seems so stupid. Does anyone know the way to get the “tm” symbol with the number code like the Ā© mark?Melody… it’s ALT 0153 on your numpad. ā¢
That is, hold down ALT then type in 0153 on your number pad (to the right of the keys). šThanks! ā¢ -
