let me know if you need someone to help go through boxes…that would be so interesting…
I agree, that would be VERY interesting! 😀
yup…very interesting…and probably lots of fun…no matter how many boxes there are
I should post a pic of the box situation. It is staggering.mikki wrote:*****bump*****
just wondering if Miss Melody ever found out anything good on this guy ?
😉
I asked Jeff. He says that he has no idea what those numbers could be, and as far as he knows, no one here has ever put numbers in the sculptures like that…. BUT the pad looks real; is there a Windstone stamp on it? (you can’t fake those too easily)
Those little marks around the side could be groves from the sanding mesh we use on the bottoms.
Something else that seems unusual is the sort-of blobby bumps on the very close up pic of the tail/ hip area.I know those areas are smooth because I sanded every d**n scale myself. This may be blobby paint, from a re-paint, but it could also be a sign of a casting made from a latex mold.
We use silicone…
It is a mystery.
Is the dragon as heavy as other Windstones?
Is there any way you could contact the previous owner? Maybe she/he could shed some light on it.This is an example of the problems repaints cause, folks! It is very hard to tell the real from the knock off!

We all know the sad story of the theft of the lion kirin. Is the lion kirin totally gone forever or do you think you can recreate him someday. He was so beautiful…. 🙁
I hope those thieves get what’s coming to them someday… 👿
SOMEWHERE I have the rough that this lion kirin was carved out of, but nobody has been able to find it yet. We have mountians of boxes containing old sculpture versions everywhere, and sorting through them is a real job.
I also have several other versions of the lion kirin. (like I do of most of my sculptures) I have found one of them, so I can go from there. However, I had spent a ton of time on the face of the one that was stolen, and I had just gotten it to look perfect, exactly the way I wanted it to look. This is a specific character. I had sculpted it to be a drawing guide for me to use to draw that character… the other versions of this sculpture are pretty, but their faces aren’t exactly the way I picture my character looking…if that makes any sense…
Fortunately, I have a few photos of the stolen sculpture, so at least I have a something to look at! I can probably use the photos to re-create the stolen Lion Kirin from one of the earlier versions. Thank you for the oppportunity to rant. Always makes me feel better! I love whimpering.mikki wrote:I thought this was asked before, but I’ve been searching and can’t find anything – forgive me if it’s there and I’m just slow. I did see the temp tattoo thread.
What is Windstone’s stance on a tattoo design based on one of the Windstone dragons ? A friend of mine has been wanting a dragon tat forever but never found the right one. She just recently discovered Windstones, she says they’re perfect. I know the company doesn’t encourage fanart, does this include a design she draws for her own personal use, on her own body only ?
thanks We don’t allow tattooists to have our designs as stock images, but if anyone has a design of mine that they want to have a tattoo done of, just write me. reptangle at gmail dot com
I have always given permission. Tattoos are special. I have a tattoo design in my gallery that was based on a drawing I did on a letter.purplecat wrote:Out of all the sculptures you’ve done, which is your favorite? Just curious as they’re all awesome. 😀
My very, very favorite… sniff… was the Lion Kirin.
My other very favorites: Old warrior, dragon bookends, and the poad™, (but I am pretty tired of having to put the dang TM after the name!!..not to mention sharing all my food with them.)tsija wrote:Sooo…that little thumbnail of the Autumn Leaf Secret Keeper is driving me nuts. I’ve been waiting for weeks to see the pic and, now that it is up, it is so tiny I can here my inner demon chuckling. I keep checking back to see if the larger picture is up…hoping it will be soon… 😯
I know. I didn’t have time to get to it today, I’ll try to figure out what went wrong with it tomorrow. The image is stored on the computers at Windstone, so I can’t re-upload it from home, where I am now.The picture doesn’t do her justice, anyway.
The phoenix is actually finished. It was intended to be a stone finish candle sconce, with the glowing eyes. We decided that Phoenixes need color, so we went “eh”, and packed it away… somewhere.

But I want that Wizard’s house!!! I saw that one a while ago on a search in Google…Along with the horned Flion…Darn sticky fingered people! I am still wishing my wish of seeing one on my shelf…But now I want that House too!!! Grrr 😆
Melody, I think you should make the Wizard’s house! But in time…No rush! 😆 Besides, it gives me something to dream about! I finally have all of Gary’s castles (I never thought I’d like Weinburg, but I do and Hawks is in the mail…*waits impatiently*)! Now I need one from you! 😉 😉I am “working on” both the Llama and the Wizard’s castle. Someday we’ll produce ’em.
( “Working on” is a phrase that I have changed the definition of.I use it to mean the sculptures are sitting out where I could work on them if I had time. “Not working on them” means I can’t even find the unfinished sculpture. Like the Phoenix, for example)Hokay we’ll try it this way, one image at a time; http://www2.snapfish.com/slideshow/AlbumID=144607243/PictureID=3124674271/a=84248058_84248058/t_=84248058
Dang, this only lets me post one page..
does anyone really care to read all this? It is just about dumb stuff. The pic is the best part.emerald212 wrote:I keep getting an error message when I look at the photo. Can someone put the actual photo on the forum?
I don’t know how from snapfish!
emerald212 wrote:Nope. Snapfish won’t let you see more than one photo on it unless it’s your account. Try http://www.villagephotos.com. They seem to give you more options and won’t sell your photos (snapfish will).
I tried that one, my images are too large for them.
Greater Basilisk wrote:What they said. I never knew the hatching dinos were so HUGE!
They look a little bigger than they really are in this pic.
SPark wrote:I would not object to that at all. *grins* (I’ve been calling those ones Lynxakits. There’s a thread on them over in the general art area.)
I take windstones in exchange for fuzzies, you know…good. I’ll take two. One for me.
So I gather the slidshow feature doesn’t work. Here then is the other b-cake image, after it was sliced. This has the passed-out Maya Hill figurine. It did have a little liquor in it, I think. http://www2.snapfish.com/slideshow/AlbumID=144610023/PictureID=3124760148/a=84248058_84248058/t_=84248058
