Wow! She’s absolutely stunning! 😍
I *love* I can has cheezburger! I think it was this forum that introduced me to it eons ago when I was still married and living in NJ (tasgrs). I changed my forum name since I changed my entire universe since I moved down here after the divorce. 😊
They’re all beautiful. I love the sweet faces on her siblings, who look very much like Maine Coons. 😊💕
Faye’s coloring is that of a Snowshoe, which is pretty much the short hair version of a Ragdoll. She’s beautiful.
Here’s to hoping for continued success!
🙏🏻💕🤞👍Every blue-eyed creature I’ve had, from horse down to cats, their eyes have all always reflected bright red when photographed. Kinda unsettling in the case of the horses, since at one point I had 9 of them. There’d be 8 sets of normal, yellow-green reflected eyes and 1set of bright red…..lol.
On the multiple fathers in the litters of kittens, the answer is yes, absolutely true. Each kitten can have a different father. Faye may have been the runt of the litter. I’m glad to hear that she’s back to using the kitty box again. Keeping the whiskers crossed for continued success!
Drag0nfeathers, out of curiosity, you mentioned that Faye’s eyes constantly flicker back and forth like a speed reading person. Does she have blue eyes, by any chance? And does she have a full tail?
I’m asking because my American Bobtail, Lillee has blue eyes and they do the same thing. She’s a natural Bobtail born with a little crook at the end of her tail. Said tail is a study in perpetual motion, lol. Marty, my boyfriend calls her “Jeep” after the cartoon critter from the old Popeye cartoons. According to the breeder we adopted her from Bobtails wag when they’re happy, and if so then Lillee is the happiest kitty I’ve ever seen. 😊 But her eyes do that flicker thing and she’s the only cat I’ve ever seen do that. She’s a seal lynx point kinda Siamese color. She’s also the lovingest kitty I’ve ever met, greeting visitors at the door and demanding lap time and giving nose kisses as soon as they sit down. She’s not obviously hampered by the eye thing, but then again I’ve never seen her jump more than 4′ vertically.
I had another Bobtail from the same breeder; chocolate lynx point, blue eyes, but I’m pretty sure his tail was docked at birth, since his tail bones were totally different from Lillee’s, being very heavy and large at the base; not at all flexible like Lillee’s, whose tail bone is smaller around than my pinkie and about 5″ long. His eyes never did the flicker thing. I know in Manx cats you’re never supposed to breed 2 totally tailless cats because they have a high chance of the kittens being born with various neurological disorders. So I’m just curious about your Faye. The litter is made of some kind of resin, I believe. It turns red or blue depending on what the trouble is.
For the life of me, I can’t think of the name, but I’ve seen it advertised on Facebook.Having had several cats over my lifetime so far, including 3 that eventually had to be let go due to chronic kidney disease, I’d have to agree with the other posts that Faye’s problem is likely to be either an UTI or kidney disease. Has she lost weight, shown an increase of food and/or water intake?
As for not being able to touch her, there is also a syndrome that’s neurological that causes the nerves to be overstimulated and the cat reacts like Faye. My mom had a cat like her; you couldn’t touch her w/o wearing welder’s gloves and throwing a blanket over her, and once you *did* catch her, she would scream, urinate and defecate all over the place. I’m serious about the welder’s gloves; she bit my ex-husband through a pair of regular leather work gloves and sunk her teeth to the gums. We took Zoë, (or Psycho Kitty, as I called her) every winter from New Year’s to late April while my parents were in FL, and every year my mom would tell me that if the cat got sick, take her to the vet and put her down, because medicating her was out of the question. She was declawed early on because she shredded my dad.
There is also a cat litter out there that will change color if the cat using it is sick. I would suggest trying that if you can’t get her to pee in the empty box. Should it turn out to be an UTI, could you possibly have her stay at your vet’s place for the duration of medicating? I would catch her in a heavy blanket and hang on to her rather than attempting to get her in a crate.
But I would definitely try to get her to the vet.If it’s not too late, count me in?
We don’t travel in the motor home at the moment, although I’m curious to see what the cats would do if their house started to move. 😁
My collection is mostly peacocks and EmPeas with the pair of black sunset Griffies, and a red fire Old Warrior with the special rainbow sparkle overspray that I won on eBay years ago, and I have a few curlies including one I *think* the color was twilight that was another eBay score, and a ooak curly that was done by Melody called the blue ribbon that I won in a special raffle eons ago. As for my favorite pieces, I’d be hard pressed to pick just one, really. There’s been so many new pieces and colors but right now I’m on hold for a while until my finances are back on track. I’d really like to pick up something in the blue morpho color. But for now everything is stored since there’s no room to display anything. Once Marty and I are settled down, then I’ll put them on display. 😁I’m in Plainview, about a 20 mile trip from Russellville; I went to Tech way back in the 80’s-in fact that’s where I met my boyfriend (well, OK… He’s now 59 and I’m 58…lol) I’m originally from NJ and have been trying to get back here for over 35 yrs.
My 1 cat is a Siamese, affectionately known as the Meeze, the other is an American Bobtail named Lillee who answers to the nickname of Meeps because of her quiet little voice. The Meeze is actually trained pretty good for a cat; she knows what I want her to do or not do, and when I tell her to quit on something, she’ll quit but she cusses me out in a chattery teeth sort of voice just to get the last word! 😂 -
