They’re going to have to learn to be more flexible, I’ll be curious to see if this one sells… Besides, you’re better off not bidding on this one if you want my opinion, they’re ripping you off on insurance since I can tell you right now that with Canada Post, the first $100.00 of insurance is included in the shipping fee, and for every $100.00 more of insurance, the fee is only $1.20 CAN. And this seller is charging $10.00 just for insurance!
I can’t see anything wrong with his left eye, but as far as his face is concerned, I think he was just painted that way originally. The blending is too smooth and the finish to even for it to have been rubbed off (in my non-expert opinion). And I wouldn’t call it a flaw either. Although 😀 , if you compare it to coin collections, it’s really the “flawed” ones or the ones with mistakes that become more valuable because of their rarity. Sort of like the jade western dragons or the emeralds with orange eyes or the tan griffin with the stripey wings.
So what do you guys think? More or less valuable?

A little while ago, Melody requested that we not do that because it creates a lot more work for Karen.

Congrats Saydee! I didn’t think it was one of us… It’s great that you got it!

I agree with GB, I was thinking the same thing myself… That way you gather your own following who will instantly recognize your work, and also, it sets it apart from all the others!
BTW, he’s absolutely gorgeous! I hope he goes as high or even higher than the Opal Dragon you sold a couple of weeks ago!
SPark wrote:Most of them are in the same place every year. There’s a good list here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furry_convention Just scroll down a bit.
I go to FurtherConfusion every year now, and I hope to add Anthrocon to that this year. *crosses fingers*
Wow! Thanks for the link! I see that there is a very new one in Montreal… I will definitely be checking it out next summer! 😀

Maybe I’m too cynical, but just because she says her husband is having surgery, doesn’t mean he actually is.
Exactly!
Good for you 😀 Unfortunately, living as far as I do, I never get these guys quickly! I have learned to be patient 😉 If it was shipped on last Friday, I might, if I’m very lucky, get him next Friday. But most likely, I’ll get him around Wednesday January 24th.

If this is UPS, as soon as you get the tracking number, call UPS and tell them exactly how you are going to be paying for the customs/brokerage, and tell them that the goods are USA made and not subject to duty. If they ask for a NAFTA statement to that effect, one can be had. Otherwise you risk your box sitting in customs without a brokerage attached to it. It’ll come in, float around for a day or two, then they’ll call you, then assign themselves as the broker, then it’ll float around again… so be proactive.
Are duties the same thing as taxes? Because I have been paying GST and PST on everything that I order from the US…
Dragon Master wrote:I thought you where not supposed to give dogs chicken bones?? I have heard the are so small they break easily and can choke the dog
That’s actually both right and wrong, it’s cooked chicken bones that are dangerous because they splinter into needle-like shards, raw bones are fine and are digested very easily. When you thing about it, it actually makes sense, after all who hasn’t heard of a fox or a coyote getting into a chicken coop…
I’m one of those who feed a commercial BARF diet. I get it pre-mixed and frozen into 1 cup portions and I just defrost what I need every day. My dog is crazy about it! And to think that the first time I offered her raw meat she was sniffing at it and looking at me like “what am I supposed to do with that?” 😆

AsH wrote:I went and calculated it myself cause you guys have me a little bit worried… For 4-6 boxes, totaling about 60 lbs, to arrive in the next week and a half should be about 70 dollars. I went on the UPS calculater thingy
Not trying to scare you, but if they haven’t shipped your items yet, I would contact them and explain in detail exactly how you want the dragons packaged for shipping. I’ve heard so many people here, who had assumed a seller would know how to pack, end up with broken pieces because of bad packaging… I never take a chance anymore, even before I bid on an item, I always ask the seller if they will agree to ship according to my specifications and never had a problem yet.
Average selling price is $113.00 (2 sold in mint condition on ebay since Oct. 1st, 2006)
Shouldn’t there be a couple more by now? Maybe we shoud dig up that gender poll and get the new members to answer it…
