Heehee, you dressed to match your car! It looks frickin’ cold there, though! And wow, look at those high-tops. I had some red high-tops when I was in grade school. Man I loved those shoes. The 80s were awesome. XD
Hehehe, those are racing shoes. They are made of Nomex which is fire proof. I have a helmet and gloves made with the same material. Some events require fire proof equipment.
The shoes are actually a lot like boxing shoes, they have a very flat sole and you can feel the clutch, gas and brakes better than a regular shoe. And since they are fire proof, when you are on the hot asphalt at the track, they don’t get as hot.
It was about 90% humidity and 50 degrees that day. It was freezing. And of course since I am a woman, I have to have matching accessories for the car 🙂
Hehehe, we had a great time today! And we signed up as a sponsor for a race event in April that supports autism reasearch. So it was a good day and for a great cause!

Donnie just his 1972 Pantara DeTomaso a week ago…It’s sweet! Fast too!! 😯Sorry about your water heater…Those things can be a pain 😛 …The heater not the hubby…Well, sometimes they both can be! 😉 😆
Wow! That is a rare car!!! We actually have a friend in town who owns a Mangusta DeTomaso….
Neat!
kitsunelady wrote:You’re in the Viper club?! =0 That is so cool. I remember I was in the Dodge dealership once, and they had a brochure or a magazine on it that I looked at while waiting. But I can’t remember the last time I saw a Viper in real life. Dodge still makes them, right?
Good luck with your plumbing problems. o_o
It’s just ironic how my hubby will spend money on the cars, but insists on doing his own plumbing…hehehe
Yeah, they still make the Viper. Mine is a 2006, 2008 has a bit more horsepower and a different hood. Otherwise it is the same.
Here is a picture of me at Viperdays last year…well off to the track…
My cat is sooo bad….
I found out today, that Mephistopheles, our big, black cat (who opens doors) walked in on my husband’s cousin while he was in the bathroom.
I wasn’t home and I don’t know if I ever warned him, but my husband’s cousin came over a few weeks ago and didn’t lock the door. Stoph hates closed doors and so he opened the door on the guy while he was using the bathroom. Scarred him half to death…
Hehehehe!!!
Ohhh and here is a sequel to the cartoon cat “Simon’s cat” the one who hits the owner with a bat…on Youtube.com ENJOY!!!
I figured everyone here would understand this….
The water heater in the attic busted…I thought it was stupid that the house had the water heater there…no major damage, but hubby refused to call a plumber…two days without hot water….
Well, after an entire day, me pulling the makeshift winch (made from my husband’s truck tow strap and a car trailer tie down strap) and draging the old water heater down, all the way across the attic from the access. Then lowering it down on a rigged up winch. Then me in the attic pulling the tow strap winch and him pushing the new water heater up…then wrestling the new one over the elevated living room ceiling, so we had to pick it up over the step up…its finally installed.
Now, my arms are bruised, my back hurts, I have a drag strip and road race event that I have to be at in the morning for charity, for the Viper Club, since I am the event coordinator…have to go….
So he checks it…and it is leaking from the fittings which are welded on….so now at 9pm on Saturday the Emergency plumber can’t come till Monday. So all said, It’s me who has to cancel patient’s on a busy Monday and get a damnned plumber.
The whole thing is so stupid, because I could have called a plumber last week….but my husband the man who spends enormous amounts on restoring old cars…refused to call any friends for help and was too cheap to get a plumber.
Sorry, just had to rant somewhere. Well, I am gonna pay for a plumber!!!!! And I am not gonna even get an estimate….I am gonna tell them to charge whatever they want. I want hot water….
It’s not leaking bad, so the plan til Monday is he goes up, turns it on for an hour so we can bath, then turns it and the water off. So I can’t run the dishwasher or do warm water laundry (with a week’s worth of laundry backed up) UGGGGHHHHH!
Hey I am there as me keschete…look me up!!!!
I agree, you are creating new Windstone addicts! Hehehe! Good for you!
skigod377 wrote:Has anyone else noticed a decrease in value of the retired peices? I just scored a whole brown family (basic 4) for $155. Back in the day that would not have happened. Is it just a fluke, or are the peices going for less these days?
If so, whats the cause? Too many? Attention on the special peices? No money?
I think all of us who had to have the old brown family probably already have them….besides the peacocks, they are probably some of the most produced. I have had my peacocks and browns for almost 20 years…..and I really prefer the other sculptures to the mom, dad, young and hatcher.
So at least in my opinion, it is that there are so many, supply is greater than demand.
I meant gold since silver isn’t actually available yet 🙂 and DM is sitting on 2 hehehehe…he is a lucky man! Maybe someday…I could convince hime to sell one to me… yeah right!!!!

You can get a special policy for your collectibles. American Collector’s Insurance is great. For $150 per year I have 20k worth of insurance.
Maybe you should check that out instead of going through your homeowners. It is a little cheaper and better service.

You can pm me with the codes embedded in your pm… I use the quote option and copy the codes you embedded. At least to post on Gaia.
For here, use the small/tiny option for the codes and put them in your signature.
LOVED IT! I took a half a day off on Friday so I could go watch the movie while the theater was empty.
Plus, I hate leaving either one of my cars in the parking lot…to get damaged (How parranoid is that?)
So, anyway, I took off Friday afternoon, despite bad reviews and went to 10,000 BC. It was awesome. The plot wasn’t bad, the graphics were fantastic. It was a good story for people who like Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
I would highly recommend it. I also loved the trailers for Marked….a new Angelina Jolie film…she is driving a red Viper Coupe..(mine is blue) but I have to see that movie too….looks great!
I’ll post them on gaia tomorrow…I have been sick the last few days….
Kaya
Here they are….
