I’ll just try to get my money back via ebay instead of the post office then.
Thanks for the advice. Hopefully this super frustrating situation will get less frustrating…
A belated hello! I’ve been around these forums for maybe a month now and figured it was about time I introduced myself.
I go by Sherra generally as my online alias. I’ve been collecting windstones for years… well, I should say that I’ve owned them for years. Back in high school my sister and I went by this store a couple times a year that sold windstones… and we adored them so much we saved our allowances and bought a few. I ended up with a peacock hatcher, an emerald young dragon, and a peacock fledgie from that.
These days… I’ve recently started getting back into them with a vengeance! Bought a couple other of the younger ones at a convention… did a trade here… am having an ongoing horrific encounter with ebay. *frustrated sigh*
But hi! You may see me lurking around the sales pages. I’m an unpaid intern currently and very much want to finally get some of the adult dragons… but my unpaid-ness unfortunately means I have to be kinda cheap about it. I’m thinking about trying to hunt down random people selling windstones on craigslist and stuff for cheap and reselling them for a bit of pocket cash. I still have a lot to learn though and I’m nervous starting out since I don’t have a huge amount of spare cash to fling into this project… so any advice would be appreciated!

January 11, 2010 at 2:05 am in reply to: Question about windstones damaged in mail (and ranting) #801530I’m in the middle of a vastly frustrating situation. I bid on what was labeled an emerald peacock mother dragon only to receive a peacock mother dragon. The seller agreed to refund me (but not refund what it would cost to ship it back)… so I shipped it back… and now she sends me a picture of it broken and says it was damaged in the mail.
I didn’t put insurance on the package since I packaged it the same way I received it (bubble wrap, no double-box) and figured it’d be ok. I’m a newbie at all this so thought it’d probably be ok.
Now the question is… I suppose there isn’t anything I can do about getting reimbursed by the post office? I know it’s a long shot… but I’m massively frustrated about all this and discouraged. I was using Christmas money to get that dragon as my first bigger-than-young-dragon Windstone… and now it turns out that not only was the seller an idgit but I might not be able to get my money back.
*sighs* Anyone got any advice for the situation? If not… at least it was nice to rant about it somewhere… now I know to be more careful, both with packing and with ebay (I’ve found the packing tutorial since).
I love the wings on both of these wolves. So colorful!
Oh yeah! I saw that you had one for sale in your thread… but you also said that you wanted store price for it.. and since I’m an unpaid intern this year… 8D;; I guess I’m trying to find one for a little cheaper…
I’ve decided that I like the gold best! Anyone have a gold male for sale?
All right! I’ll consider that! Thanks! 😀
Are you looking for pretty much near store price for most of these?

January 1, 2010 at 7:41 pm in reply to: Trading BG hatchling and peacock spectral (wanted: kirin) #795346I found a trade for the fledgling! Still looking for a trade for the hatchling!
Does Melody send out factory paint to those who ask?
A couple of my little dragons have a chip here or there. It’d be handy to touch ’em up!
I’ll certainly keep browsing ebay!
I just figured I’d try here too… since it’d certainly be simpler if I could just find one to purchase as opposed to having to pay attention and bid…
Edited again: Annoyingly… my funds are now tied up in an ebay auction in which the seller sent me the wrong windstone and refuses to refund me. Very irked. I can’t buy a dragon for myself right now as a result of it.
However! My sister loves windstones to and has asked me to look for a specific piece for her in the meantime. She adores her ki-rins, but she only has the male and the baby. She’s asked me to look for a mother ki-rin for her. She doesn’t mind if it’s isn’t in perfect mint condition.
Does anyone have a mother ki-rin they wouldn’t mind parting with?

Ha ha… that was exactly my thinking on them! I don’t have much money these days but if I can legitimize them as potential investments it makes there be a lot less guilt trips about buying them.
