I find her quite pretty!
Good advice that. I think I would be O.K. there but I am a little out of touch with what was produced from 1996-2000. At any rate I am so darned excited to try these I am making my husband nuts. He really wants me to practice on some disposable pots. I find that I am really more of a Geronimo person. I love to just jump right in. I think that makes him really nervous! 😈 We are really well balanced in that way. 😀 I had this idea for the dragon so tell me if anyone has seen this on a piece. I was thinking about how many animals have different colors when viewed from above and below. If you have a dragon that is out hunting, they would not want to be seen by their prey. I want to spray the first coat as a white from the bottom up and black from the top down. That would be the base coat. The second coat would be from the bottom up colors in the sky and from the top down some detail in browns and some hints of other colors that remind me of New Mexico, those lavenders, pinks, golds etc. At which point I am thinking some multi tonal metallics or interference paints to top it off. Then I would do the detail work. I want to try to keep to nature even though this is a mythological creature. I can see the dragon so clearly in my head. I wanted to try some rainbow scales as well. O.K., now I am just running on. 😳 Anyway, that is what I have been thinking. Anything out there like that?
Actually A4 is a size in paper. I believe that it is your standard 8.5 x 11 isn’t it? It has been a while since I used preprogrammed paper size settings.
O.K., here is what I have going on. I purchased 3 PYO’s (dragon, griffin and unicorn) and I am going to try it for the first time. Firstly let me state that I wish very much to abide by copywrite rules so I figure as I paint I will submit my pieces to make sure I am not infringing on anything. That said, these lines are extensive and I do not know them all. So I am a little worried that I might accidentally make a mistake there. Hopefully there will be a little understanding if I accidentally do something naughty and I have no problem fixing it if I do. I love to paint and I have done fossil molds, castings, and the subsequent paint jobs. (Long story on that.) I think I would be really good at this and I have some ideas. The dragon is going to be my first piece so I got the following supplies and I wanted some more experienced painters to comment on the supplies that I am getting. I have some standard acrylics here but I really wanted a chance to try some interference and metallic paints too. With fossils everything is muted and earth tones. I wanted to break out into color. So I picked up:
This airbrush kit:

I was looking at these flakes and I was wondering if anybody has used them:

Thank you for the answer! I saw one not in the egg steg. with interference paint. It looked like an older sibling and I bid on that one too. I didn’t get it though. Apparently they are very popular. I didn’t go overboard because I had to save my money for the metallic poads! Are there any pictures in the galleries of the brown versions? The egg version is all I have so far. I would love to see what the original looks like. 😆
O.K. my triceratops was getting lonely so I got a friend for em…

I was wondering, the stegosaurus, is it very hard to find? I lost one to a sniper on eBay. I was sad and it was so cute. I think it really wanted to go home with me. 😆
Sorry that was a reply to page one. I didn’t see the six pages. My bad!
I’ll see your living in a dark room and I’ll raise you a hiding from Florida sunshine in a room that glows from space! It’s cool. It reminds me of the Star Trek bridge at night. 😆
So do we know what the cost is going to be on the metallic poads? I would love to assume they are the same price as the butternuts but we all know what they say about assuming! 😀
Wow! I am over come! This is a truly awesome group. Thank you so much for the warm welcome. To us shyer members that is very encouraging. I only hope that I can truly add something positive to this group. I have never received a greeting like this before. Thanks to you all!
So when are the metallic poads going to be ready for adoption?
Oh, Yes! Metallic Please! Count me in for one!
*Groans* Tell me about it. I just placed my first order for three PYO’s. I love this idea.
Ohhhh Thank You Thank You Thank You! *Does a little dance* I am so excited about these guys. I don’t supposed you are going to do any of those multi color poads with the green and blue? The one that looks like peacock coloring is my favorite. And thank you very much for the welcome. Its all Melody’s fault really, she let me know you guys were here in an email. I was lusting after the gold dragon on Ebay. I just had to write her about it. Next thing I know I am in trouble as I see my future funds just dancing away.
Thank you very much! I did write an email just now as you suggested. I am really hoping for one of the metallics…or two…well to start anyway.
