He’s sooo beautiful and I can’t wait to get him!!!! I love fairy dragons, and Nina’s is the best one I’ve ever seen!
😀 Thanks!! I hope you like him
emerald212 wrote:So, how much do you charge for a dragon with fairy wings?
Thanks everyone! As for price they would start at $80. One just like this would be about $150 because the sparkly wool cost more & is harder to work with. Price is more than my normal 5″ dragons ($60) because this guy is a lot bigger 8″ tall and 10″ from nose to tip of tail. So size, special wool & wings are what make this one more.
twindragonsmum wrote:Thankies! I’m always on the look out for good wing material 😆 Is the fantasy film made by the Artistic Glitter folks? The only place I’ve found the film is on their web site. None of the craft stores in my area carry it… Easy to use? Could you provide a short tutorial? (aren’t I demanding 😳 😆 ) The fairy dragon is absolutely darling!
twindragonsmum 😀
I get the stuff off e-bay only place I’ve found it. It’s some times called angelina film too. It’s ok to work with but can be a pain. I made about 4 sets of wings before I got the one’s I liked. Also color changed a lot so they sometimes come out different than u think they will. I’ll try to make a tutorial at some point 🙂 if you find any people making wings with gallery glass it’s about the same I just use fimo gel because it’s stronger & sticks to the film better…twindragonsmum wrote:That fairy dragon is too, way cute! What was used for the wings?
twindragonsmum 😀
the wings are made from something called fantasy film and fimo gel & wire. They are super fun to make & very shinyjust be careful about the taking offers thing as some people tend to get mad :p just make sure you state that it’s best offer not first offer because I don’t think everyone gets that part.

Not sure about the sculpt (looks like a poorly interpreted cross between a mother dragon and an old warrior to me), but the 2 available paint jobs definitely are knockoffs. I picked up the peacock one, and the box shows the ruby one, which on the actual thing looks more ruby than in my bad pic. I thought maybe John would like to have the sculpt sent to him? The only possible company name on it is “Rainbow”, and it is a cheaply made hollow plastic thing (the eyes are plastic eyeball-beads)
Don’t know if it helps but “Rainbow” is a company based out of Dallas, TX & all the items come from China. I’ve seen these before in their main store in Dallas but they didn’t have them the next time I looked.
Azurielle had the cool idea of a fairy dragon so 3 months later here it is 🙂

Also a little dragon plush in red

emerald212 wrote:I really like your bears and dragons. Too bad you use wool and mohair though. I have allergies to both of those. Cute, though!
LOL me tooI!! I’m very allergic to wool so I don’t use it much. The other fabrics are faux fur and vintage velvet, and felt. I’ve used wool felt before & it makes me itch a little so again I don’t use it much. The mohair of the bears never seams to bother me. But I can’t wear a mohair or wool sweater or any clothing made with the fabrics. I guess the bears don’t bother me because I’m not holding them to my skin for long. 🙂
ah thanks everyone 🙂 It’s funny but I started making stuffed animals because I’m a big collector of plush and got tried of all the mass produced ones, plus it’s really had to find a good looking stuffed dragon.
Here is another tiny dragon plush. This one’s even a little smaller than the last one under 3″ tall if standing

I’ve been staying very busy 🙂

Check out my ETSY store for more http://www.featherheart.etsy.comI also wanted to share this little guy I made. This is my smallest plush so fare. 2.5″ tall when sitting just under 3″ if standing

He’s sold but I can always make more & in just about any color 🙂thanks everyone! We have so many pine trees in east TX that 1 is sure to fall when the wind blows. I’m just glad our house didn’t flood like last time.
We have power! After over 48 hours with no power it’s finally back on. I could care less about TV, or AC the only thing I worried about where our animals, mainly our fish. Thankfully we had a small car jump-starter that powered the saltwater tank and had batter back-up pumps in the other fresh water tanks. No losses as of today so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
Here are a few pictures of the debris. It doesn’t look too bad in the pictures but this is going to take days to clean up & these pictures where taken after some cleaning.

This is why we didn’t have power 🙂

At this point I’ll be spending a lot of time cleaning up. Oh and I have to replace all the food in the house 🙁 the only food we have left is bird food LOL.
Did anyone else have Hurricane IKE damage?
LOL Don’t worry Nam I’m a crazy bird lady too! It’s prefect because my husband loves birds as much as I do (he had an African Grey when we met) & now we have 22 birds! Most are rescued or my breeding birds.
Sadly I wish I could say this person gave me Phoenix for a good reason but she was crazy, she spends all her time playing WoW and has a 6 moth old baby that she doesn’t take care or. The conure was in a dirty cramped cage with cheap wal-mart seed only food and 1 perch and 1 toy! Very happy that she gave me the bird, he’s now in a new large cage with tons of toys, I’ve gotten him on a pellet diet and health fruits and veggies (which he had never had before) and he’s so sweet.
I agree with the allergie thing, that if the bird is a health risk that it might be better to get ride of them. I had a friend that ended up with Bird Keepers Lung (worked with poultry) but had to give up her pet birds 🙁 I think I would die if I had to give up my birds!
We can’t have kids so the birds are the next best thing (I think better)
I always hate when people give up birds for reasons like “they scream” or “they are too messy” WTF that’s a bird. I could go on and on having rescued exotics for over 10 years now but I’ll stop before I start ranting LOL
This is Phoenix the newest member to the rescue/family. He’s an 8 year old sun conure that his mom could no longer keep because they had a baby. He’s doing well but doesn’t seam to like the other birds, just my hair LOL.

Oh and if anyone in the Tyler, TX area is ever interested in adopting/buying a bird let me know 🙂Great I hope it helps. It’s so funny when I started needle felting about a year or 2 ago there was nothing out there on it. Now even my local Hobby Lobby has a few needle felting supplies!
