LOL! What I do to keep our birdbath water liquid during our Northern Winters is to use a heating element that plugs into AC and heats up just enough to keep water from freezing, so it does not harm the critters. It looks like a flat iron and has an insulated cord. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to get it out so my birdbath is currently empty or I’d post a pic.
