lol..I guess I am the odd one now. My old digital camera was a Canon Powershot S100. It was the kind with the rechargeable battery. The battery kept on running out and would only let me take about 5 pics and then die. I recently got a new camera, it is a Olympus E-410 and I love it. You can see what it has on the website Blackdesertwind gave:

    http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_reviews/e410.html

My parents paid $500 for it. It came with 2 different lenses (with hoods-I think that is what they are called), a free memory card, 2 rechargable batteries, a charger, every cord that you need, and a camera bag. They got it from Costco.com.

Anyway, good luck with finding a camera. 😀

They do love to throw those trash cans around, don’t they!!! 😆 Every now and then, you get one who very nicely puts it back on the driveway, but most of the time they’re laying halfway in the street. 😆

Here they don’t unload the trash cans into the trucks. We have big plastic trash cans that the arm of the truck grabs it and then dumps it in the truck. I think they got smarter. Garbage cans can be heavy to lift. I guess I never thought of a garbage man being a respectable job. I guess I was one of those thankless people. 😳
I think it pays pretty good. It is under $20 a hour, but I still think that is good. And the benefits are suppose to be really good.

Being a garbageman entails a lot of responsibility. Its a tough job; you have to keep working rain or shine (or snow) and no matter how much you have to pick up, you have to complete your entire route. You can’t stop because the truck is full and save the rest of your route for tomorrow. Does he work long hours?

My son was fascinated by big trucks from the moment he was born and what’s bigger and more fascinating than a garbage truck. He used to run to our living room window when he heard them coming and the guys would wave to him. Now that he’s older (he’s 14), he doesn’t watch them as much, but he still has his collection of toy garbage trucks and adds to it whenever he sees a new one. There are some on the internet that sell for $100 or more. 😯 He does not have any of those!! 😆
Yeah, he is actually excited because before he was doing dirt work and he usually got laid off for winter. Now he has a job thru Winter and he says that now he can actually spoil me for x-mas and not have to stress about saving money or something else. Right now he has to be there at 6:00 am and then usually gets off around 3:30.

That would make sense now that your son would be more fasinated with garbage trucks since you said that the garbage men would wave at him. When you meet nice ppl when you are a kid it influences them more and I think kids are smart and figure out who they want to be like when they get older.

Not to mention, it’s a very important job!!! Where would we be without garbagemen?? 😯 Which kind of truck does he drive? The kind where other guys are working with him, loading the truck or the kind with the mechanical side arm that dumps the garbage pails? My son was fascinated by garbage trucks for years. My Dad used follow the trucks so he could watch them when he was little. His favorite video for years was “There Goes A Garbage Truck” and at kindergarten graduation he annouced that he was going to be a garbageman when he grew up. Who knows, he still might!!! It’s good, steady work. 😉

I was hesitant to post that he was a garbage man. haha. It reminds me of that episode of Frasier where Roz was dating a garbage man and she was imbaressed that she was dating one. Right now he is driving a roll off truck. He is collecting the large dumpters from places that rent them out. That is the smallest size of loads he has to do. There is a middle load and then there is the highest load where he goes around to neighborhoods and collects the big garbage cans. I guess you start with the smallest loads and then if you do well with that then you move on up. He is working with a trainer for the first week and then he gets to go by himself. His trainer wrote yesterday on his evulation that he did a excellent job. 😀
That is cool that your son is/was fasinated with garbage trucks. What made him so fasinated?

    Thats awesome! Whats he doin?

Well he is a garbage man (driving the trucks), but it pays really well. He will get benefits, retirement, vacation, sick leave. And I guess at their company party they have a chance to win money around $1000 and win a prizes like big screen TVs.

    Thanks again guys.
I can breathe a lot more now. Whew.

I love that game. Have you ever played Killer Bunnies? http://www.killerbunnies.com/

Have you guys played Hi Ho Cherry-O or Candyland when you were kids?

I thought of playing killer bunnies but the cards didn’t have enough variety for me. Guess I’m a snob from playing MTG and Legend of the five rings. I like my card games to be really artistic if I’m going to buy add-ons and such. There’s this game called BANG! that’s really fun. I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Apple’s to apples is really fun but you need a large group of people that all know eaachother about the same degree for it to work.
Well I did play MTG as well and I still think Killer bunnies is fun. 😛 I still have my MTG cards…maybe I should start thinking about selling them.

Its a combination of Poker, Rummy, and one other game. One hand of cards, three games, lots of betting. 🙂

Aw, that sounds cool. Do you buy it at the store or do you use a whole bunch of stuff from the other games?

You buy it at the store. I dont know what kind of person came up with the crazy idea, but it actually is fun.

Cool, I will have to look for it. 😀
